Big D Drive-in — Restaurant in Bathurst

Sure, the service was prompt and friendly. No amount of good service, however, could prepare me for what was to come.

I got the Jumbo DannyBurger. The unsalted fries were the best part, I'm afraid. The burger was covered in "Danny's sauce" which tastes like a mixture of overly sweet ketchup and vinegar. When I say "covered," I mean the burger was cut up and the sauce poured all over it, completely masking any taste the meat may have had. The coleslaw tasted like someone bought a generic brand from the store and somehow removed all its flavour.

Every year when i come home one of the 1st places I go is to Big D for my Clams. Sad to say that this was the 1st time that I can remember not enjoying my order of Fried Clams. There seemed to be alot of end piece of the previous order and not alot of full clams and not an enjoyable meal. I was raised here in Bathurst and grew up with the Hickey Family. So this is part of my tradition especially a couple times a visit. Sadly I'm enjoying the clams at 748, Papa Joe's and Atlantic Host. Very Sad 😥 and hopefully it will improve the...

Had a Big D 🍔 which was ok. Also ordered the poutine which I didn't get with an orange shake.

Burger was ok (The red sauce on it is just sloppy joe sauce).

Poutine (didn't get) after I ordered it but had the bland crinkle cut store bought fries (blargh).

Wasn't what I hoped. Food menu definitely needs to be updated though.
