The food was pretty good. 8ncant complain about that. And I hate to write reviews with any negativity, but in the hopes that the management would like to consider my thoughts, I felt I'd share.
The staff were very friendly. I'm have no complaints with their level of politeness. However, we had made a reservation, which would have seemed like the wise choice seeing as that they are a very busy establishment. When we arrived though, we were asked if we'd made a reservation, and it becane evident that they scrambled because they didn't a really have a table for us. So, in fairness to the young lady that was tasked with dealing with this, she tried to make a plan. She decided to seat us in a booth over in a corner right beside a huge birthday party. I have no issue with noise or partying, and that wasn't even the first thing that struck me. It was the fact that this lone booth was missing a lot light above it and as such it was really dark. Added to which, there was a fly-trap pinned to the wall in plain view. Then there was the cleaning cart parked right next to the booth with dirty dishes, a pail of murky water, sprays and the like. I found myself having to shout at my date to be heard above the festivities right beside us, and I couldn't even read the menu. I am a very easy going person and this was the first time I felt that it would be readable to ask for another table. Our server obliged and about 20.minutes later they moved us. It had light. It was also a booth, in the other end of the building riggt next to the washroom. My view from then on was an open washroom door with overflowing garbage and people going in to and out of this messy facility. Then, eventually, 1.5 hours after arriving, our food arrived. I won't give a 1 star review based solely on the fact that the food was decent when it eventually arrived, the staff were indeed friendly even if a little bit inattentive. It's a bit of a shame really because it's quite a nice place. But then again, one isn't really spoiled for too much to pick from in the area. Luckily my company was as always wonderf which really helped take my focus off of the...
Read moreGreat spot for a meal! We came to check this place out and were not disappointed one bit! The staff was extremely accommodating and nice (we spoke English and they tried to understand, in the end pointing at items on the bilingual app menu goes a long way!)
We started the meal with the Brie Fondant 🧀 of course cheese! Please be aware that the serving platter is extremely hot so be careful when eating! The brie was melted just enough covered in praline pecans and drizzled with honey and arugula on the side. It comes with 4 crackers to scoop your brie, pecans and arugula onto to munch away! DELICIOUS 🤤🧀🥜🍯
We each ordered a pasta in regular size and it really is a generous portion! We opted for linguine for each of our pastas 🍝.
The first pasta was the Linguine with Duck confit and mushrooms 😍 perfectly cooked and the amount of flavour in every bite was unreal! Quite literally cooked to perfection just the right amount of salty and creamy with a burst of mushroom flavour in every bite!
The second pasta was the Oceane which was scattered with seafood! 🦐🐟 A generous portion of shrimps, scallops, smoked salmon mixed throughout the pasta. The creaminess of this pasta was amazing! 👌
The third pasta came from the signature dishes section Quebec pork osso bucco 🐖. This dish was unreal a HUGE pork shank took up roughly 1/3 of the plate you don't have to believe me look at the pictures to confirm! This dish had a tomato based sauce, the pork was extremely tender and came right off the bone. The meat was super moist, if you are a tomato base lover this one is for you! 🍅
For dessert we got the Maple Creme Brule and The Truffle. Both made perfectly the Creme Brule was not too sweet, crisped perfectly and very smooth! The Truffle was absolutely incredible! 🍫 It is a chocolate mousse cake with a hazelnut crisp on the bottom which gives you all the richness followed by a light and sweet hazelnut crisp base! I could have eaten another one of these if I was...
Read moreAt first appearance it looked awesome, once we walked in we were asked how many wanted to be seated as we mentioned 3. The old woman then told us no and walked off for 5 ish minutes to say that we do in fact have a table. Service wasn’t awful at first until they decided to fully ignore us at our table. We then ordered a pitcher of beer (a 17 year old ordered it and wasn’t even asked for ID, good job on that one). Service was extremely slow the pitcher was gone before our starter. By the time I had finished my meal I no longer was drunk from my pitcher hinting at how long we were there. When we proceeded to pay we were criticized for not tipping on an 18$ bill for one individual due to slow service and bad cold food. The old woman then attempted to force us to tip In cash, instead she choose to bump the other 54$ bill to 77$ as she claimed it was a mandatory tip and we had to pay it or else. She was quite aggressive and rude.
The only reason this place got 1 star was because Loic Bruni and Loris Vergier we’re there and they ride bikes like...
