My wife and I and another couple went here to eat on August 18, 2024 around 11am, if the owner wants to look into this further. Upon entering there was two other tables being occupied one seemed to be the owner the other was two RCMP officers. 1 table in the corner was dirty from 4 plates of previous customers. Upon walking in the owner told us we could sit in the corner and the waitress would clean the table if we wished but we just chose to sit at a table that was already cleaned off. I ordered a large water with lots of ice, When it came it was a small glass with only two ice cubes The water was warm and the ice cubes melted almost instantly. When I asked for more ice cubes the waitress gave me a snotty reply and said "I have to make those by hand so we're limited on ice" My buddies girlfriend ordered a Bud light the waitress brought a Coors light.
Our food came and I will say the food was great two of us had fish and chips and two people had breakfast. Our waitress never came back once to ask how everything was to ask if we needed anything, didn't even come back to ask if anyone wanted anything else she simply walked over and put her bills on the table.
At this time my buddy asked if he could have a refill on his coffee, which never did come. She never came back to the table to take our payment, we walked up to the counter to make our payment still with no coffee for my friend, and can you believe it that table in the corner that was covered in plates when we came in was still covered in plates when we left. Like I said the food was fantastic the service was terrible, and for someone that works in the service industry and works for tips I'm generally a very good tipper however this time none of us felt a need to leave anything for the terrible service we had.

Hubby and I stayed in beautiful belle Cote on our little vacation this July. Decided to stay in Cape Breton so the nasty virus didn’t get us! We had breakfast here our first few days and even tried dinner and pizza since it was the closest local place. Inconsistent is the only way to describe it! On Tuesday our breakfast was delicious and so Was dinner. On Friday it was a whole other experience. The food was slow and even though we got the same dinner dishes both times th were incomparable. A local told us only to come when the local cook was in. The boss, Roddie MacLennan was also around. He seemed nice at the surface but didn’t have mich respect for his employees. God only concern seemed to be how one of the cooks, who appeared to be his wife, while completely ignoring his waitress and the small girl working their icecream barn. Hoping we caught him at a bad time. Seems unprofessional to have your wife cooking for you but to each it’s own. Continuing our trip and hoping to have a better experience. Will keep you updated. The staff is friendly and helpful But Not bilingual.
The manager/boss is stupid and don't know how to run busniess!
The food is good and the portion as well.

I've rated this restaurant 3 stars because the second day we did go at the same place and we decide to order pizza this time, we was told by the waitress that pizza is only for take out ..... at this point, I can't belive what she just told us.
She offer me to go ask the manager if we can still eat pizza in the restaurant and the boss told her NO!
I've asked then what I suppose to do ....order the pizza and go back to my motel room where there is no table or plate,fork, knife
