I had made an order on the Subway app, including two 6 inch sandwiches and a footlong cookie. I arrived about 10 minutes after the app said it was ready. When I arrived the employee was still preparing both sandwiches and unfortunately this meant the other customer who was there before me had to wait an exceptionally long time before ordering, even though they were there before me.
Not only that but the employee forgot to include the footlong cookie, I had to point it out. And then afterwards, it turned out there were no more chocolate chip ones, only gingerbread. I declined this one since it's not the one I wanted but he didn't seem to understand and baked it anyways. I repeated yet again that I didn't want it and he seemed surprised.
I asked if I could be refunded and he said he didn't know how to do that. No where in the app is it possible either. He said he'd need to call his manager and asked if he could pass all the customers first. By then there were about 5-6 customers. I had told him he could pass the next one but that I didn't want my own food to get cold either. He then called his manager, who said they couldn't do anything right then and there so they took note of my name, number and email only to never contact me back.
All in all, what should have been a rapid transaction ended up taking 30 minutes, and that was 10 minutes after they were supposed to be ready. I do not blame the employee for not being able to handle the refund and it seems unclear how to do so (big red flag for the app design), but the customer service was most definitely lacking to say the least. Especially since I was never contacted back, and that the employee thought the best course of action would be to pass all other clients before making a quick call to his manager.
