We stayed here for our first time visiting Blind River and were pleasantly surprised by the attentive service and delicious food at this hotel and restaurant.

The hotel is a humble wood building with an old charm to it. The rooms were renovated and were well maintained during our week stay. In addition to the sunset views on the lake, the location of the restaurant right next to our rooms was more than convenient!

Although labelled as a sports bar, the food at the Pier Sports Bar easily surpasses most restaurants and pubs we've visited, and is well-prepared with high-quality ingredients. We enjoyed the fish and chips, a large portion of chicken wings, fish tacos, chicken sandwich, and their signature burger. All were well prepared and the sides including their seasoned fries and caesar salad were no less delicious than the entrees!

Both the restaurant and hotel are locally owned and family run, which is clearly evident during your stay and/or visit. I would highly recommend this location for anyone looking for a hidden gem to visit along the highway.

Edit: forgot to mention the reliable and fast internet we had the entire time. Made a...

So I am from Blind River but my friends in Sudbury were coming to visit for a night to have diner and a hotel room, girls night.

We called to rent a room and asked about the healthcare workers discount as we are X-ray, CT, MRI techs and the young girl on the phone said that they don’t do any discounts like the website says, and I said I would still get a room with two queen size beds & she gave me a price higher than the website price. She was very annoyed by me and rude so I said I could speak to a manager if that was easier for her and she said the manager would call me back. No one called me.

We booked a hotel room somewhere else in Blind River, how unpleasant. I feel bad for the restaurant because I know it is a family owned business and I’ve ate here many times before.

We had diner here because I had told my friends how beautiful and nice it was prior to this unfortunate phone call. The food was 10/10 & the service was 10/10, we ordered drinks, appetizers, entrees & it was...

I was passing through my hometown and decided to stop in and bring my long time friend out for dinner at the Pier as I had been there a few years ago and the service, food and view was amazing. This visit on August 2025 under new ownership, we ordered drinks, an appetizer and main dishes. We got the appetizer fast enough but then the waitress never came back to check on us. I had to call for her then asked where our food was as now it had been an hour and a half that we placed our order. She blamed the delay on the appetizer saying it showed the cook down. When we didn't accept that as an excuse, she blamed it on the large group that had just walked through the door. When we ordered, there was only three tables used by customers. I've never waited that long before in a restaurant. Not any city or small town I've been to where this was...

Let’s start with the location: beautiful setting on the delta of Blind River. In most of the areas of the restaurant you have views to the river: the inside is full of windows or you can seat outside in the patio. The restaurant has been renovated and it has an elegant yet simple atmosphere. There is a nice bar. Our server was attentive and efficient. The menu is small plus there are specials. We ordered two of the specials and both were very good, well prepared and tasty. The prime rib special came with a mini Yorkshire pudding and with perfectly steamed and seasoned fresh vegetables. The local fish special that was tender, juicy and flavorful. It came on a bed of basmati rice and with perfectly steamed and seasoned fresh vegetables. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake: very different as it was with on a sconce pastry instead of cake. Very good!

The two of us arrived for dinner around 5 pm on the Sunday of the Labour Day weekend. Service was prompt and professional. Laura, our server, was very personable and fast. We both had the Whitefish special, which was colourful and very tasty. The Whitefish was grilled to perfection as were the grilled vegetables. The banana cake dessert was out of this world. The view of the river from our table was fabulous. Highly recommend this restaurant for any weary traveller driving through Blind River.
