Stop! If you are in the area do not miss this place if you like French pastries. It is easy to miss just off the highway but the bakery products are fantastic. We actually came on our way back to Halifax as the waitress, Rachel from Juniper restaurant in Chéticamp, told us about it. I had the best cinnamon roll I have had in my life with a flaky pastry and just the right combination of sugar and cinnamon. My wife had a delightful quiche and the coffee was good as well. It is take out only, although there are a couple of chairs and tables outside by the front. Seriously if you are anywhere near here and like bakery products this is a must stop!

We discovered this place by inquiring from another business that sells some of their baked goods. Ever since I've made a lot of stops during work, or when passing through. I can't say I've been disappointed with anything. While the prices are a bit higher than what you'd expect at a grocery store, the quality and taste make up for it. It's really hard to beat some of the amazing things they offer. Breads are fantastic, the feta olive bun, petit déjeuner are wonderful. The only thing I wish they had more readily available would be prices for items. I actually buy less because prices are not listed.

Stopped here on a road trip and it did not disappoint. We tried a quiche, delicious! Picked up an apricot sour dough and some goat cheese spread to go. Also tried one of those huge oatcake things in the third pic. Not like a typical Nova Scotia oatcake, but also very good. We loved everything. Will definitely take another weekend trip to Mahone Bay area to pay a visit. There was an antique market near by and what looked like some farm stands.

I passed by this place on the way to Mahone Bay. I was intending to go to a restaurant and after finding out both my 1st and 2nd choices were closed (no staff and midafternoon closure between meals?) I thought I'll go back and try this place.

What a treat! It's small, but everything looks so good, ended up getting a few items as I couldn't decide. The Petite Dejeuner was one of the best things I have ever had. Yes, I was very hungry at that point, but it was genuinely yummy, as was the cheesecake.

Since eating their I have been telling people to go, and that I can't wait to go back when I'm on the South Shore again.

I ended up paying about as much as I would at a restaurant, and getting less food, items are expensive but the quality is there, so the prices are justified.

Staff were very friendly, displays were nice, everything was clean and neat. I will plan my next work meeting around their open days. What a waste of a trip if they weren't! Definitely give it a try if you're anywhere...

We were there in the late afternoon, not much on the shelves, surprised to see Baklava in an "authentic" french bakery, but thought we would try it. It was very poor quality, dry, tasted like it had coffee in it. We also bought 2 large round desserts type items, similar looking to Eccles, but they weren't, they were doughy but tasty. Apricot honey bread was okay but not great. The sign on the highway states "authentic french bakery", we didn't see any authentic french items in thr bakery. Being from a culinary background we were disappointed however we would consider trying something else and earlier in the day next time we are in the area. Hopefully it was just...
