Of course the owner answered with so much ego and lies that I finally put 1star. They'll never learn to accept their flaws in order to enhance their services. Please eat elsewhere and save yourself the headache of dealing with these kind of bad people/owner/services.*
First time yesterday...I never had so much mixed emotions for one place. First I think they are victim of their own success, and lack structure to maintain their growth.
I stepped in as the only customer inside at 4h30, left at 5h45
Pros : The young girls overthere with the boy at the casher, have a great smile and customer service. The older woman showed care to the comments I made on the spot after she came and asked me what's going on, which deserve 10 stars. It shows she's listening to her customer. There's a good heart into her work, thank you Madame. Even though the place is small, they managed to keep a good venting. The plantain sandwich won my heart and the asking price is very reasonable. More care into making sure all bones are removed will be great though. The overall cleaning is ok but...(here comes the cons) CONS : As soon as I set at the table, I realize how sticky it was, I thought it was maybe the coating reacting under the summer heat. I went to take a red table cover and they were all dirty. I passed my order and waited 40+ minutes to have it, which was very frustrating for a first experience. But the elderly woman explain to me it takes longer for the plantain sandwich as it's a fresh meal from scratch, which makes sense but I should have been aware of this beforehand and give the choice to select something else. I was there with a child and no amount of well education or manners could make his hungry stomach accept that long period of wait. Then when I got my order I didn't get the white rice but the bean one. They gave me the white one in a separate plat and that was a smaller portion, with brown pea sauce (very tasty and well spiced by the way), but price wise it's not interesting as I paid for a plat not a side extra rice. There's no napkins for self-service, for those who wants to eat on the spot which is hard when you're trying to wipe your hands. The tiny tissue provided in the to go fork and spoon set is clearly not enough.
Finally, I brought the food back home, the second haft of the sandwich, the pea sauce and the bean rice. That's when I totally got mad. My friend wanted to eat the rice (2 hours later), I opened the plat and put the fork into it so I can transfer to a regular plat. OMG There was very thin wires like spider webs or melted marshmallows in the entire portion of rice. You know when you melt cheese in a macaroni and you lift up a big piece of it and you can see the cheese stretching in between the pastas. For my entire life eating haitian food I never saw a duri kole ak poa been like that. I throw that straight to the garbage and took severals videos out of beliefs and thanks God that my child didn't eat that at the restaurant nor my friend once at home. 😤😤 I'm always open to an explanation on what happened and what was it about but really, after driving from West Island to Bois-des-Filion to visit them, I wouldn't repeat the experience again. Before I wanted to put a 3 but nooo.. the bean rice throw me off. Nevertheless, I would love to see Caribbean restaurants succeed and moving foward in wealth, but y'all need to structure your business adequately. Adding extra profesional steps/manners, won't hurt. For me it was the first and last time overthere but wish you the best and hope...

Mac N Cheese is amazing to add to what I previously said
Ignore bad reviews to this place based on dirtyness, tax problems, etc.. please, don't take those reviews seriously. I went there several times, the restaurant is very clean and the kitchen, you can partially see it, it's out in the open, looks very clean, things are prepared fresh, the portions are very generous and the price is right. The food is homemade and hearty. I recommend without hesitation and excuse me for the photos, we forgot to take the photos before we started eating.. Chicken and Griot are amazing. food takes long to receive but thats because it's prepared fresh so I don't mind it, just...
