We came in to eat at Fitzgerald's Restaurant on July 1st after the ferry ride from Newfoundland. We checked in at the motel next door where the clerk told us it would be okay for us to go to the restaurant at 6:45 p.m. even though they closed at 7:00. We were leery of going in at that time, but we were tired and hungry. The two servers who were working were so cordial and assured us that it was not a problem for us to be there just before closing. I had the fish and chips and I honestly can't remember what my husband ate. I do know that we both enjoyed our food and conversation with our server. Read moreWe are so happy we stopped here. We were on a day tour from the cruise port and was looking for a place to stop for a late lunch. The Lobster sandwich was so worth it. My Ukrainian husband ordered the homemade cabbage rolls and said he hadn't had ones this good since his Mom passed. I only wish it hadn't been the same day that Post Tropical Storm Phillippe had visited, or we would have enjoyed the view of Kelly Mountain. Thank you to our server for her lovely manner. Read moreThe place was completely empty. Should have known better. Overpriced, less than mediocre food. Soup was decent, crackers were stail. Fish and chips ( 1 piece of Haddock), Lobster Club Sandwich, 2 soups and glass of orange juice cost me almost $89. I was charged an extra $5 for substituting regular fries with sweet potato fries. The patio floors were fall- through rotted and unsafe. The worst dinning experience I've had in a very long time. Probably ever. Don't waste your money...
