âThe view from the patio is amazing but letâs eat here because the food there is terribleâ she said. âHow bad can they mess up bacon and eggs?â we replied âStay here and I will make you breakfastâ she implored
Did we listen? Nooooo...
True to her foreboding the view from the patio was amazing and the food was ... aweful. She had experience and opted for the soup and shepherds pie instead of breakfast stating that âThe food is really bad but usually his soups are goodâ. As it turns out that was a bad choice as the soup was described as âtasteless mushâ and the shepherds pie was barely warm from being microwaved and remained completely cold in the middle. Two of us ordered eggs over easy with the accompanying meat, home fries, toast and beans. Both meals arrived without beans which I did not notice till later (see details below). I must admit that my meal was ok and comparable to any other dive breakfast restaurant. My friends breakfast however was a different story. His toast was dry and old and was not even warm enough to melt the butter which had been applied. His bacon was extra super crispy (although not ordered that way) and cold and dry as if it had been sitting out for a while. My partner (The fourth in our party) was looking for a health alternative but there really werenât many possibilities so she opted for poached eggs. When given the choice she stated that she would like them cooked to medium however they came out runny. Her toast was as above, cold and seemingly re-buttered. Sushi beans...? When I was nearly done my breakfast my friend commented that they had forgotten the beans. After his questionable culinary experience he was not interested however I felt that they were owed to me. I reminded the waitress about them and she promised to right the wrong. Good to her word the waitress dropped a small portion cup of beans on her way past our table approximately 10 minutes later however in the mean time she had cleared away all of our cutlery. Fearing that my beans would become cold and less flavoursome, and with no waitress to be found I felt the need to quickly improvise. Not wanting to eat with my hands and risk appearing uncouth I fashioned a set of chopsticks from available coffee stir sticks. My impromptu MacGyver lacked efficiency but at least I was able to sample the dish. They were regular canned brown beans but at least they were warm. Summary: Awesome view but 3 out of 4 patrons surveyed said the food was terrible. Mine was adequate. The coffee was palatable however we all agreed that the small garnish of watermelon on our plates tasted most excellent and was the highlight of our gastronomical experience. 4 for 4 thought the view was awesome but we all found the wait staff to be slow and lacking in attentiveness and accuracy. We did receive a discount on our bill after pointing out the shortcomings to the waitress however when we asked to speak to the owner/chef we were told that he was too busy to talk to us. Business must be good however in all honesty the Restaraunt did not...
Read moreDISAPPOINTED......I made reservations for the Harbor view restaurant for Father's Day for 6 . It's a beautiful spot and very pleasant to sit and watch the Harbor. We arrived at our reservation time 2 PM and was greeted pleaseantly and fairly quickly by a young gentleman who asksled us about drinks. After he brought our drinks we waited for perhaps 2o to 30 minutes and a middle aged waitress to came along and said she was taking over. That was the beginning of the downhill slide. She took our order but was way more interested in the next table to us whom she obviously knew. We waited a fair length of time for our meals to come.....no one asked in that period for any drink refills....and all of us got our orders except for my husband who was of course the person celebrating Father's day. The waitress forgot to order his meal. We asked for water refills at that time....she forgot to bring them.. The young man who originally seated us came back and he was the only one that checked on our table. We asked him for water which he brought. My husband's meal finally came when we were almost finished our plates. His fish was undercooked. Again no one came to check to ask if everything was ok. They cleared the table and then asked us how it was. When we told them about the fish which was very undercooked she said she couldn't give us a refund because we didn't still have the plate. My daughter asked to speak to the manager but the lady waitress said she would check again. Coming back to tell us she took it off but had to pay for it herself. Her excuse over and over was they were understaffed but the patio wasn't even full and there was only one table inside. While she was talking to us about our bill she was continually fooling with her hair and dropped a hairpin on the table and just left it there. I would rate the location and the food a 4 or 5.....the young gentleman a 5. The lady waitress and the wait time a 1. I could only recommend this restaurant if the got a...
Read moreExcited to try this restaurant as visiting a friend new to town. First impression not positive. The windows were so dirty at the side of the building where are you waiting to be seated. Just a table with a bottle of hand sanitizer that felt like just water when you put it in your hand. There seem to be a lot of tables on the patio and then a few tables just below the patio that did not yet have chairs. We were seated by a hostess not wearing a mask. The waitress was not Wearing a mask either. As we sat waiting for our drinks we noticed that the table behind us and the table in front of us were both given orders that were half right and each had to send one of their dishes back. We got our food and it looked good but when I went to put ketchup on my fries the catch-up was like pouring water on my food. Food was average. Mediterranean wrap was mostly lettuce with veggies And no dressing or any sauce and warm coleslaw. Restaurant got busy and people were seated at the area that did not have chairs yet and customers were passing chairs over the railing to the other customers. When the waitress served food to the people on the lower level they had to get up from their table and come take it from her over the railing. The serving staff was using the same cloth to wipe tables and they did not wipe any chair handles or anything. On the ground from the restaurant out to the patio area it was black and dirty. Did not feel safe as the restaurant did not appear to be abiding by Covid regulations. Several staff members were out chatting with people in the parking lot and then back in the restaurant area touching things and then back in the parking lot. Just felt that the restaurant seemed dirty and that no Covid masks or any other restrictions for being abided by. It was like no pandemic was going on....
