Salmo Hotel Bar & Grill — Restaurant in British Columbia

I find the food quality has gone way down over the last years while the cost has gone up. We just had fish and chips and were told it would be ready for pick up in 15 to 20 minutes. I got there late and had to wait about ten more minutes for the fish and chips. The fish was less than half the size of orders a few years ago and the oil was running off it in the container when I got home. The amount of chips were very sparse and what springs to mind was the order might have beern shared with someone elses portion inbetween a new batch being cooked. This outlet is now manned by people not associated with owning the business and not worth patronizing any more. There is also a tip-snare when a customer goes to pay with a credit card. I had a horrible experience here with my friends after shambala. The servers continuously ignored us and didn’t check on our food after we asked and insisted that they were overwhelmed with orders even though the restaurant was half full. It also took an hour and half and we were missing many items that we asked for. I wish Salmo bar would take more responsibility for this poor experience rather than blaming my party and insisting that they were using abusive language while I can verify that no one in my party was. I get that there are staff shortages, and maybe their chef quite… or something…but this place, on the evening I was there, was in shambles. Many of the menu items were not available and what was available mostly came out either burnt, cold or dangerous. My Caesar salad, which I could only stomach 2 bites (the 2nd was in disbelief) might have actually poisoned me. Why did I give 2 stars and not 1? The server, who was getting complaints from every table, was marvellous throughout. I don’t know...
