An Unforgettably Awful Experience – Slow Service, Pitiful Portions, Rude Owner, and Highway Robbery Prices
I rarely write negative reviews, but my recent dining experience at [Restaurant Name] was so catastrophically bad that I feel compelled to warn others. This establishment is a perfect storm of terrible service, laughably overpriced food, insultingly small portions, and an owner who treats customers with outright contempt.
Service: Did the Staff Forget They Were Running a Restaurant?
From the moment we walked in, it was clear that efficiency was not in this restaurant’s vocabulary. Despite the dining room being half-empty, we waited 20 minutes just to be seated. Once we were, our server took another 30 minutes to acknowledge our existence—and that was only after I flagged them down.
When we finally ordered, the real nightmare began. Our appetizers took 45 minutes to arrive, and our main courses didn’t show up until an hour and a half later. At one point, I saw multiple tables around us—who had been seated after us—get their food first. When we asked about the delay, our server mumbled something about the kitchen being "backed up" and then disappeared again. I wouldn't blame her it seems they were very understaffed.
The Food: Tiny Portions, Outrageous Prices, and Zero Flavor If the glacial service wasn’t bad enough, the food itself was a masterclass in disappointment.
Portions Fit for a Hamster My partner’s chicken dish looked like something you’d get in an elementary school cafeteria—dry, flavourless, and barely larger than a deck of cards.
The Owner: The Rude Cherry on Top of This Garbage Sundae
The absolute highlight of this disaster was the owner. When we (politely!) expressed our disappointment with the wait and the food, he didn’t apologize—instead, he crossed his arms, smirked, and said "Well, maybe you should stick to fast food if you can’t appreciate fine dining."
Excuse me? Fine dining? This was barely a step above a frozen TV dinner. When I pointed out that paying for two tiny, poorly prepared meals was unacceptable, he actually rolled his eyes and walked away. Unbelievable.
Final Thoughts: A Complete Scam
I have no idea how this place stays in business. If you enjoy wasting money, waiting forever, and being treated like an inconvenience, then by all means—give this dump a try. Otherwise........
0/10 – One of the worst dining experiences of my life. Oh, I feel for the servers, poor girl was overworked & I'm sure...
Read moreAnniversary dinner with my husband. Had the flat bread, beat salad, braised beef, apple crisp, and creme brule (all excellent), one non alcoholic beer, one beer, one cocktail, and one espresso). Service was so/so, not to the level that I would expect for the price. I left a request with my reservation to sit upstairs. After being led to a table on the main floor, half under the bar counter right next to the 6 foot speaker for the live music, we asked (again) for a table upstairs, which after some "finangling" as per the waiter/host, we were able to obtain. ( No one else was seated at the table we were orginally given and there was still an empty four top upstairs for the entirity of our stay there). We each order an app. The waitress went out of her way to say the mains would come after the appetizers...(isn't that how it's supposed to go?) Before we finished our apps, our main course came. The waitress told us she can leave the mains on the other table. I'm a little frustrated at this point. I tell her we would like the mains, and we will leave the appetizers as it is literally a hundred dollars worth of dinner getting cold. The service felt rushed despite the waitress telling us we didn't need to rush out after we had paid the bill. The food was great. Their service was like mediocre for an average restaurant and not great for an "upscale" restaurant.
The bathrooms need a deep clean/renovation. Their sink is on an incline, so if you run the water full, it spashes back on the presumably nice clothes you are wearing to this expensive restaurant... but don't worry, there is no faucet on the tap, so it takes a bit of an effort to move the little tab on the side of the sink up to run the water.... The whole place needs a deep clean.... the screen on the bathroom window is caked with dust. My husband and I both id'd the same fly on the window sill that was there when we last went in 2021. The window is overlooking the open part of the dining room, so difficult to get to for sure, but not impossible. All and all, we had a great time because my hubs and i can make anything fun together. We both decided that regardless of how good the food was, their are places nicer, cleaner, and with better service (I'm looking at you Foundry Tavern). Everything combined, it is just too much for the almost 300...
Read moreTerrible customer service!! Do not bother stopping here. I should have read the reviews more closely before making reservations here, as that seems to be the trend in other reviews here as well! I have NEVER in my life walked out of a restaurant with a reservation, without first eating, until we came to Easy Pour.
I made reservations here for our Anniversary dinner. When speaking with the lady on the phone, I specifically asked for a seat on the upper level with a table near the edge so we could look over, as we'd never been here before and it was a special dinner. The lady said she would make a special note so we could get just that, even saying she would put "do not move" with the reserved table.
To start, when we arrived the two hostesses/waitresses had their backs to us only about 2 feet away and actually continued to carry on their conversation and ignore us for at least a full 2 minutes. When they finally acknowledged us, and I was able to inform them of the reservation, she started to walk us toward a main level table, exactly the opposite of what I had requested. When I explained what I had requested and been promised they said the top level was already almost full!!! Only after telling them how displeased I was, they said they could try and squeeze us into a corner there. I was willing to see if it could work, however it was ludicrous where they expected us to sit, squished into a corner where we could barely move our chairs comfortably. It was quite an upsetting experience from the moment we walked in, that we then walked right out; speaking to the "manager" (who was present for the whole thing) on our way out, letting him know how very disappointing it all had been. We headed 1 minute up the road to Langdon Hall (with no reservation), and it was a MUCH better choice. They were so super accommodating and very kind the whole way through (despite being slightly under dressed for such a nice place, and having no reservations), the manager gave us our own special area to eat and decorated the table for us even!! I could go on, but I'll save that for a full 5 STAR review on their page.
Long story shorter... DON'T GO to Easy Pour, put your money towards a place that actually cares about...
