Hello.
So essentially I've lived in Cambridge now for five years and Toasters has been my go to breakfast place for the past five years. The food is great and the portions to price is amazing.
My issues right now are with the waitresses. Three years ago the waitresses were the highlight to Toasters. They remember you order and check on you multiple times throughout the service. But today Oct. 15, 2017 has been the worst service I've ever seen from the restaurant. Seated at a dirty table that had a rag quickly passed over. Had our cutlery thrown in the table in a bunch. Coffee spilled all over the cup before it was served. So we all had sticky cups. Then when it came to check up on us and if everything was okay or if we needed refills. That didn't happen. But she came over to bring us the bill and then we all asked for a second cup of coffee. But she had enough time to gossip with other customers about who her family knows. While the restaurant was busy... Seriously? Let me just finish this paragraph by saying Martina is amazing. If she can pass off her wisdom to other staff members, I see the place really turning around.
Now I know it seems I'm being over critical. But as a fellow chef who works in the same industry (breakfast rush). I expect a little more from such a great restaurant. You guys are amazing and I want you to keep being amazing. The new waitresses just need to be trained better.
Anyways all the best and hope things improve. Cause I really don't want to have to start going to 50's...
Read moreDeserves zero stars. We ate here friday December 14,2018 approximately 6pm. My wife had a greek omelette with no olives. Eating her left overs for breakfast today, Saturday December 15, she found a human finger nail in her omelette.
Posted a complaint with public health. Will edit when investigation is complete and i've had words with their owner.
Edit... Just spoke with the waitress/server. Refused to give me a direct contact of the owner. Didn't offer one apology and had a rude tone with me. When i told her she didn't need to be rude she said verbatim "I'm not being rude, I have tables to tend to."
So hopefully this review helps. Friendly folk when you're in the diner, yet completely dismissive when you have a serious health complaint with their food handling.
Owner called, didn't apologize said "I don't know what to tell you, If you come again I'll offer a free meal."
Under the circumstances I think not.

There are 3 ladies working and not one of them came over to even give us a menu. They were standing around the counter going through their purses, talking and laughing so after waiting 10min we left. Not a very good first experience, and dont think I will be returning
Update: it won't let me reply to your response. Wow that took seven months to get a reply. Regardless if there was a new person working or not, you were aware that we were there because one of you told us to take a seat. Then we were blatantly ignored, all three women kept looking over at us but not one of you came over. Also nobody took any money out of their purses , one lady took her phone out and was going through it, and the other one took out lip chap her lipstick or something. I clearly remember this day very clearly because I've never been so disrespected in a restaurant. I won't be returning, I got better service...
