We stopped by to have dinner during our trip to the island. The restaurant seemed a little busy but there were plenty of empty tables and we opted to sit outside. The view is amazing! Our server was nice, seemed a little flustered and we could tell it was going to be a while because she came back after a long wait and forgot what we ordered for drinks. We chose to move inside because it was warmer. The atmosphere inside was chaotic. The blonde haired waitress was clearly not cut out for the job. She was off putting to other customers, rude to people calling to put in takeout orders and even threw the phone onto the bar area because someone chose to wait on the line to put in an order. She did have 2 multi person tables of about 5-6 people to serve but many servers do that all the time. A lady at the bar spoke to her about her situation and the chef even came out to see if she had calmed down any. It was shocking to see her act that way. The restaurant needs to find better/more wait staff. Also, the restaurant should put the specials on a chalkboard sandwich board or something when you come in. We ordered and then found out later that there was a different item on special that we would have ordered. The food was average. I had a mushroom burger that had pieces of very large mushrooms on it. Not visually appealing or appetizing at all. My girlfriend had undercooked clams. The place has so much potential. With just a little care and attention from management it really could be a...
Read moreThere’s only very few places to eat on this island so be warned, it can be extremely busy on the summer weekends, here. We came on an extremely busy Friday night since the place was packed. I think they’re way under staffed in the kitchen as we waited around 1h20mins for our meals which was by far completely unacceptable. The meals were way overpriced for what you got, which is cafeteria quality at best, and what you get isn’t even cooked properly. We’re talking, completely burned burger and overcooked haddock. We would have sent it back but knowing how long it took and how hungry we were by then we just let it slide. The waitresses also need some more training as they never come around to see how your doing, how the food is or offer more drinks for the wait. You could tell they were all flustered with the crowd and completely unprepared. Even the one guy didn’t know how to handle all the extra people coming in actually turning other costumers away without initially giving them the option of a wait time. Not very nice or professional. Due to this, the vibe wasn’t quite right. Also, the restaurant floor was actually seriously dirty, like they can’t take the time to sweep or mop a spill under the table. Very disappointed in this place and the food....
Read moreMy wife and I visited Pier Waterfront because it was literally the only restaurant open on Campobello Island that day. We were hopeful due to the good reviews. Our experience was not so great. The servers were overworked but did a good job of seeing to each table. The wait times were very long, but it was busy so I understand. However, our drinks were very weak, to the point of me doubting certain promised ingredients were even added. For example, Mark's Hard Lemonade promised Jim Beam, but I couldn't detect even a hint of bourbon in the drink. Our salads, though they took a long time to come, were fresh and tasty. Our mains were mixed. The maple salmon consisted of a nice piece of salmon topped with a mixture of store bought syrup (think Aunt Jemima's) and some peppery spice. We were disappointed that there wasn't even real maple syrup. The halibut was cooked well, but a little plain since I didn't want a cheese sauce. Also, the "seasonal vegetable" was frozen carrots. (Maybe I should have ordered some fried fish and things might have...
