Three of us went to our favorite place for fried clams. One of us was our guest from Quebec; who was ready for a feed of clams. Well 3 orders were given to the young gal taking orders. She was quite rude; maybe just having a bad day. When we got our order; there was only one clam; and we figured it must be the small one in the container that it was in. Back to the then growing line; put in an order again for two large clams only. We were not happy. So we finally got our two large clams; but was sure it was a small as it was in a tray with sides. Well to make this long story short; 4 of us had been there late June and ordered each large clams only. These clams were delivered on a 9" paper plate and it was a lot of clams. I would say they have cut their order of at least large clams by more than a 1/3. I would say it is a major ripoff for the tourists that come; a large clams for 32.99 plus tax and the order has diminished a lot. We also chatted a few minutes with another lady and family who frequents L'Aboiteau; we mentioned it to her and she said yes; that is what has happened. So goodbye Quai Aboiteau Wharf Restaurant and hello Chez Camille. We had been going there for years. Downhill on service; and portions. ...

I will start with the only good thing about the restaurant. Service was very fast. I think it was so fast because the fish and clams were not cooked. We could not even finish the meal. We ordered two 2 piece fish and chips and 2 clam platters. Order came to over $100.00. We didn't even get coleslaw with the dinner. When I asked what was the difference between large clams and dinner she said large clams didn't come with fries and platter did. The difference of the price was $3.00. I told the girl we didn't get our coleslaw and she said did I want it now as she forgot to give it to us. I only asked when we were leaving as I was so disappointed in the meals and I told her the food wasn't cooked she didn't seem to care as she was a young girl and just trying to get through the line up. I know everyone is short for employees so I didn't make a fuss but just wanted to post so you can ask about what you are getting before you order and make sure your food is cooked. It was literally $100.00 down...

Edit: Was back here in April 2017. Price of the Seafood/Shellfish bucket was $49.99. Saw that their prices have gone up to $56.99 as of July 2017. Had to wait over an hour to get the food. Granted it was busy, but still a bother. Was a very good meal nonetheless and still consists of: 3 lobsters, 3 sections of crab, 10 mussels, 10 clams and 2 corn on the cob.

The Seafood Bucket went up in price to $44.95 during our visit on Aug. 26, 2015. Still a far better deal than many other restaurants that charge a disproportionate price to quantity/quality. It's tasty, fills you up, and a bucket can feed two people with regular sized appetites. We ordered 2 buckets for 2 adults and 2 teens. It was enough, but definitely had room for dessert. Best clarified butter around.

Overall, price of seafood out east has risen dramatically. Definitely don't find the deals...

I'm giving this place 3 stars, but I really think it should be a 2 star rating. The "Fresh from the Sea, Seafood Bucket" tasted like it was a frozen catch of seafood from last year. It really was pretty bad. The lobster meat was mealy. Seriously, you would be better off going to the grocery store and having them steam you a couple of lobsters to take home. No shell crackers available. The bathrooms were in pretty bad shape. No towels to dry your hands. The water barely came out of the facuet. No towels to dry your hands, only an air blower. All in all, not a good dining experience.

The food is straight up authentic and delicious. Not recommended for anyone who doesn’t eat fish or seafood. My husband had nothing he could order on the menu (he hates fish and seafood) There is nothing on the menu you can order besides seafood and fish. The place was sticky and dirty to be honest, bathrooms aren’t the cleanest. It’s literally a shack. The tables were sticky, we had to ask to get it wiped down before placing ourselves at the table. They don’t give you clamps to eat your lobster, it’s very messy. But damn it was so tasty !

The scallops and french fries were not bad, but the clams were mediocre and the lobster roll lettuce wasn't fresh and too little lobster meat for a small roll for the price. Inside decor is nothing to look at (be prepared to clean your own tables), but they do have a patio that sports a great view. May seem a little harsh, but the portions are good for the fish and seafood platters and the staff are friendly and helpful. There are definitely worse places to eat or visit the beach on a hot summer afternoon.
