Summer Shack Drive Inn Restaurant — Restaurant in Carberry

We were quite disappointed with the service we received at the Summer Shack. We drove 1/2 hour for some ice cream. I will point out that this is the best soft serve ice cream in the Westman area but unfortunately the service is not great. We ordered three soft serves. Two of them we ordered with one of the "fancy" waffle cones. We paid for our order and they then told us they didn't have enough of the waffle cones for our order. So my husband suggested that we just take one of their cookie cones and the owner quickly piped up "No that is quite a bit more money" so we received our ice cream in the plain cheap basic cone...as a business you took our money for the premium cone, even though you looked and saw you didn't have enough left, but then told us we couldn't have the other cone because it was quite a bit more money....it was us the customer who was out money, and while I am sure it was only $1.00 or so, we were the ones that lost out, not your business, not even an offer to refund/reimburse the mistake. I also heard him tell another lady who ordered pizza that next time her order would be more money because of this or that...again the food and ice cream is to die for but the service is...

We came on a Tuesday, and were told that they didn't have a full menu. But don't be fooled by the hand written menu taped on the wall. Though it just said "hamburger" when we ordered we found out that there were about 4 options. With fries and an icecream treat after, it was a great meal. The burgers where top notch. Some people complain about it being overpriced. I did not think that all. It seemed to me to be good value. I will be going back again when passing through town.

Great place to eat in Carberry. The food tastes great, and I love the setting how its unique when you can order before you sit down different from other restaurants Ive been to. The food here tastes great especially their mini donuts here. The staff are also pretty friendly to me at my visit. I would have gave it a five but its a bit outdated, and needs some work in the dining room. Great...
