Ordered our usual, chicken wings, fried rice, chicken balls, sweet and sour shrimp, egg rolls. We've been going to Golden Wheel for about 16 years. Ownership has changed hands a few times, we've never really noticed a hiccup, although we are not that adventurous with our choices. Food was great this evening, as it was when we ordered in the summer. Shrimp was battered light and fluffy, chicken balls were generously chickened (yes, I made this word up :) with not too much batter. Husband thought the red sauce was thinner than previous, but it still had great taste, not watery. Our only complaint was that we only got 2 fortune cookies, for a meal that would easily serve 4. Golden Wheel will still be our go-to for local Chinese Food.

Orders Shezwan Chicken which is supposed to be spicy. I specifically asked which is a spicy dish in your restaurant. The lady said Shezwan Chicken it comes with vegetables also. I said ok. What they gave is like chicken soup with vegetables. Bland and only takes if chicken stock. I don't know if this is a mixup or something else but my dinner was ruined because of this !! Review update - They later fixed it by giving me a different dish. Thanks to the management for listening to their customers! I always do takeout here and never had issues in the past. Their Singapore noodles are spectacular! And portion size too!!

This place is low key so awesome. Golden Wheel is located in the middle of farm & greenery but the food is so great. Service is great as well. It's a Roadside Chinese spot & the food delivers. The Egg Fu Young was PERFECTION. The gravy was so PERFECT with the egg & chicken. So so good, one of the best Chinese dishes I've had in my life. Friendly high energy owner. Great spot to eat if you stopping by in the area before you enter into Peterborough.

Finding an eat-in Chinese food restaurant in our area since Covid is next to impossible. They are all take-out only. So, when we discovered that the Golden Wheel has dine in, we were thrilled.

Four of us went for lunch today, Saturday. To start off, it was very cold in the restaurant. We mentioned it to the lady serving us, she turned up a propane/gas fireplace. Minimal difference. Our food, dinner for 4 came relatively quickly. The egg rolls and spring rolls were ok, not fantastic. The sweet and sour chicken balls were very good, full of chicken rather than just batter. The beef and broccoli was a ton of broccoli with very little meat. The meat on the platter was not identifiable as beef. The chicken in the chop suey was also questionable, shiny bordering on slimy. The honey garlic ribs were very dry. The fried rice was just ok.

We did not complain to the server. We just will not return. Basically, we spent $60+ (cost of dinner for 4) for good chicken balls. We do...

FANTASTIC FOOD!!!! FANTASTIC SERVICE!!!! QUAINT ATMOSPHERE!!!! Delicious food. Large portions...more than your money's worth. My husband and l ordered a dinner for two combination. We were thrilled to be able to make a substitution for a minimal fee. Our dinner for two was enough to feed four!!! Our "take home" leftovers will provide us a second meal. Service was quick and our server was extremely friendly and accomodating. Don't let the exterior of the building scare you away. Inside is quaint and welcoming. If you're looking for excellent Chinese food at a reasonable price; served in a friendly casual atmosphere... GOLDEN WHEEL is THE place you're looking for.
