My wife and I have been eating at The New Sarum Diner for years, the food is always excellent and the staff are like family to us. Coming here is like going home for Sunday dinner, (with out all the drama). We love this place and is well worth the drive from London. Yesterday we had lunch here, when we were finished we headed out to the parking lot and I noticed our truck wasn't sitting the way it usually sits, it had a major lean to the passenger side. Rear tire flat...thankyou screw! No problem I jacked her up to put the spare on, or so I thought. The aluminum rim had seized itself to the brake drum and would not budge. I needed a hammer and all my tools were back in my shop in London...sadness! Nancy went back in the diner to ask if we could borrow one. Jim White, the owner of the diner, came out to the parking lot and told me they didn't have a hammer...great sadness! But wait there's more. Jim got in his truck and drove to his house to get some tools. He returned with every tool I would need short of an engine rebuild! Wrap a towel around the hammer, give the back of the rim a couple of whacks and the rim was off... and the villagers rejoiced! I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to in this instance. Mr. Jim White went above and beyond customer service as he so eloquently phrased it. This man took time out of his busy day to help us out and that impressed us to no end. There are good people out there and we just found one! Thank you for your assistance Jim it was greatly appreciated. Like I said yesterday..."I owe you one man!" and I mean it. ...
Read moreOnce again, we found a restaurant that offered more than a meal. It offered an experience. DINER does not properly describe this wonderful step back in time. Open for more than 75 years and counting. Offering eye pleasing authentic antiques, post war, and local historical pieces displayed in cabinetry, decorating walls, and counter tops are marvelous to gaze upon. Tastefully arranged and beckoning you to notice even the smallest of artifacts. We know it's not just the food the patrons are enjoying. New Sarum Diner is a unique establishment that offers a front diner room, a beautifully vaulted ceiling dining room AND a banquet room/hall with separate bar. Three different dining areas. As for the menu, it offered a large fair of foods. Casual dining menu, a quick diner meal or a more formal meal. The dessert menu was not a disappointment either, more than the average restaurant for sure. We enjoyed some casual dining items including nostalgic, perfectly done onion rings. Our plates were full and offered a garnish of homemade pickles which were delicious. The buns were so fresh they tasted like they were just baked. Dessert was an awesome bowl of apple crisp and a Mexican deep fried cheesecake. Both of these made our A list. This was definitely a...
Read moreNew Sarum Diner is literally home away from home. You walk in and the vibe is straight up "going home to the family farmhouse for dinner on a Sunday".
Their service is consistently top notch and their food, if possible, is even better than the service. We have been many many times and never had a bad experience, well besides the one time the server emptied my daughter's plate of fries that she wanted to take home but by the time we noticed, the deed was done haha.
We have tried various menu items like the roast beef dinner, chicken fingers, triple burger, footlong, clubhouse, chicken wraps, pasta, desserts and always enjoy what we order. A special mention has to go out to their coleslaw. It's literally nothing to write home about, but I absolutely love it and crave it more than I care to admit. It comes with most of their meals, so don't fret! Their fries are also fresh cut, which in my opinion every restaurant should be doing, but thought I would mention it in case someone was wondering.
Their prices are fairly low in my opinion for the quality of homemade food, and they definitely do not fall...
