Today, my parents and I were free, so we went for our weekly outing. We all agreed on ice cream. To get it, we took a beautiful country drive out to Shaw’s Ice Cream. Its address is Sunset Rd and Fruit Ridge Ln in St. Thomas.

Their menu features so many flavours that you’ll have difficulty deciding. A rough estimate is about 35 flavours! Years ago, we discovered their best flavour: banana cream pie. It has real chunks of pie crust mixed with banana ice cream. Both my mom and I got a medium bowl of this. My mom expressed that it was “a unique banana sensation.”

My dad got a medium dish of orange pineapple. He loved it, saying it’s “zesty orange with pineapple aftertaste.”

You can order in two places. Outside in the sun or inside, where it’s air conditioned. It is a busy place in the summer, so it’s great that they have multiple lines. There are only three tables inside, but some more benches outside. It’s a perfect place to bring your dog with the gang because it’s a wide, open, grassy area.
