Our tour bus stopped here; WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT! Our tour guide had made arrangements well in advance to be sure there would be plenty of staff and baked goods. Instead, ZERO! They had only about a dozen cinnamon rolls and some loaves of bread. This little maple syrup / butter house is a place I've always paid a visit every time I visit Quebec City. It's about 30-40 minutes from Old Quebec and have great maple stuff. The owner(s) does not seem to smile that often and create a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere, frankly. A piece of Maple butter bread costs CAD $1.50. Small jar of maple butter costs CAD $10.95. We visited Chez Marie at the recommendation of some dear friends and we were not disappointed! The very friendly daughter of the latest "Marie" (both her mother and grandmother were named Marie) was just taking a batch of pastries from the oven, so we got to try her apple turnover, raspberry pastry, and (her amazing) maple pecan, and a cinnamon roll.
