Rivers Restaurant — Restaurant in Chilliwack

I found out about this place recently and decided to check it out. It's a nice little eatery with a surprisingly wide ranging menu. There's breakfast available until 2 pm with the usual breakfast fare like omelettes and bennys. They also have burgers, sandwiches and mains on their menu. On top of that they have sushi, ramen, udon and teriyaki.

The eatery is very cozy and has a nice outdoor patio. The decor is rustic and the table we were sitting in had a glass top table with a rock garden under it.

I had the Salisbury steak with fries and soup. It was seasoned nicely and the fries were fried to the right level of crispiness. My friend had the Monte Cristo with a side of salad.

We were on our way to Cultus Lake several weeks ago. We were getting hungry as it was dinner time. We had not tried Rivers Restaurant before. There menu was huge, if it wasn't on the menu, it probably doesn't exist. We tried some of the Sushi rolls. California, Red Dragon and Crazy Boy Roll. All very fresh and good quality. Also we ordered Tempura Vegetables and Shrimp. Excellant, nice and light, not heavy or greasy. The kids ordered chicken fingers and fries. Perfect, great quality, right sized portions. What a nice little country classic diner:) The service was friendly and prompt. The food was delicious!! I had a classic homemade burger.It was huge! and homey. They had great other choices, including lots of sandwiches, soups, schnitzel, steak, and even liver and onions! which i'll be having next time. The atmosphere was clean with a cosy "old school" simple diner feel. My sons ordered 2 bubble teas which took forever to come out. They didn't arrive until after our food was done. But when they did arrive, they were delicious. We will definitely be back!! They do have a sushi menu that starts after 5pm, so we might have to check...
