Knowing we were going to be coming through the area on our way to Yarmouth, we scouted out this place to stop in and grab some dinner. We called about an hour ahead, and the staff member who took our order was very lovely. When we arrived to pick up our food, you could tell it was a popular place - busy parking lot! Always a good sign. They do have a few cute little picnic tables to sit at outside. My husband had decided after we ordered that he wanted a coffee; so when I went to pay I asked if we could add a coffee to the order. The staff team said we could but it would be a few extra minutes - they brewed a fresh pot for him which was very thoughtful. My husband ordered a burger with fries and a Smartie flurry; I ordered the crispy chicken club wrap (I added some honey mustard) and a piece of coconut cream pie. I ordered the pie because 1) small diner pie is always the best and 2) it's the one thing I always get when it's on the menu - good judge of quality! My husband really enjoyed his burger, lots of great toppings and good flavour. He had tons of smarties in his flurry, he said almost TOO many (which isn't possible, let's be honest). I did sneak a bite and the ice cream they use is tasty! The chicken wrap was amazing - very generous size and everything was so fresh. Also - REAL bacon bits; I can't stress how important that is. I would go back for another one. But the pie. Oh man, the pie was delightful. I could take or leave the crust (this is true for most pie for me though), however you can tell it's homemade. But the filling was perfect, great texture and flavour and they add whipped cream and toasted coconut. We would definitely eat here again, as staff were friendly and helpful, food was great, and prices fair (our meals came to about $35). Our only suggestion is that perhaps marking the parking lot for take out or eat in would be helpful. We were only stopping to grab take out with our kayaks and utility trailer and two people parked behind us and went into the restaurant to eat. Sorry we don't have photos of the food; I was so hungry and it was so delicious!

Lol, read my review then read the response, guess they have a good sense of humour, or they basically can't be bothered reading reviews, that explains a lot......Expensive and very very arrogant rude cook. Hot lobster roll $31!...didn't order They skimp on everything. Burger had no lettuce or garnish at all, even asked for dill pickle and they never bothered with that, garden salad $10... lettuce with a scraping of carrot and a few bits of onion (see pic), most expensive lettuce I've ever bought. Place was empty and it took half an hour to get these two dishes. Really cold inside as always. ......update, they gave us the meal for free after the cook came out to lecture me that what I ordered was what was on the menu and that we hadn't waited for half an hour, basically accusing me of lying which she denied then went to lecture again that a salad is a salad what did I expect. She walked away from the table and I said to my friend "I can't believe how rude she is" she marched right back to the table and said "what did you say? Don't you dare speak to me like that" I pointed out it was a private conversation, I wasn't speaking to her, and she said "well have your conversation outside" I'm shocked of the rudeness, was she seriously suggesting that we dine in silence and go outside if we want to speak to each other? When we went to leave, cook came out again gloating, waving her order ticket at me, lecturing me again "look, look, you only waited 20 mins" ffs omg are you serious, you're proud it took 20 mins to cook a burger ha ha ha ha, not a way to treat customers, no wonder you're empty with such rude kitchen staff. Good luck for you in future anchors away lol 😂 you'll definitely need it. I'd say thanks for the free food but you've ruined my evening....especially with the lecturing from the cook ffs

Good food fast and yummy. The decor is a little tired looking and worn, but that only speaks to the volume of dinners coming and going. There is something on the menu for everybody and the desert selection is wonderful ( soft serve Ice cream, pies, etc.). My favourite is the strawberry shortcake South Shore style: biscuit, soft serve icecream, whipped cream and berries. Right beside the highway, and ideal for a quick meal.
