Clean, small, welcoming restaurant. Food is very fresh, considering the kitchen is right in the dining area. Atmosphere and feel is absolutely amazing. Staff is friendly, ready when you need them.
Getting to the small details, portioning is down to earth. It's not over, and it's not under portioned. Most of the food you order here will serve 1-2 people. Dishes being served is colorful and appetizing. Very different from the competition out there.
Menu is not over crammed, just the pure essentials of Japanese cuisine. The rice and the vinegar acidity is absolutely beautiful and spot on. Excellent job. Sashimi is not chewy, has a instant melt feeling in your mouth.
One of the downsides is the batter will get cold and soggy after being left on the table for too long. Some restaurants have better tempura batter mix than others. However, this is not a contributing factor to lower the score for my review in any way.
Overall, absolutely wonderful gem in the tri-cities. Completely hidden, but one of the most beautiful places that gives me a eat-at-home feeling. I would definitely come again because of the great feel, and the...
Read moreOpened up near my house so decided to try it. The quality of the food has gotten better since they first opened, but sometimes they put some some weird white sauce on certain rolls. Even though I have been to almost every Sushi place in Vancouver, I think these guys have the best Dynamite Roll I've ever had, and most of the other stuff is great too. Service is good but most of the time I take out so I don't know for sure. If you do choose to sit down though remember that they don't have washrooms. It's mostly catered towards take out but they do have some nice tables to eat at. Glad to see a good restaurant on...
Read moreI really was hoping to be great sushi. Tye sunomono salad had melon and strawberry and lettuce in itm so that was really weird tried it and threw the fruit out. Fruit dosnt belong in a sunomono salad. The salmon was mushy. Like partially cooked bit thay could have been from putting it together before the rice cooled that was disappointing. Pretty pricy 20 bucks for 6 Niggiri 2 salmon 2 tuna 2 ebi. 1 salmon roll and the ebi sunomono salad. I might give it another try one day. But I really hope they stop putting melon letuc and strawberry in the...
