Took family and friends here for Father’s Day supper and was a tad disappointed. I will start by saying that all of the staff were immensely friendly and provided a great, warm and inviting atmosphere.
I was really looking forward to trying the curry chickpeas and vegetables, which is on the menu on the website, but not on the menu at the restaurant. First disappointment. Second disappointment came when trying the mushroom strudel, which I just did not like and didn’t eat more than one bite. My friend, who absolutely loves mushrooms, found it inedible as well. I think if maybe the contents of the strudel were blended to create more of a mushroom pate, and some more seasoning, it might taste a lot better. I ordered a side of root fries in hopes of at least eating something, but I found those undercooked and greasy and only ate a few.
My father and son ordered the Larkins club and were expecting more of an ‘elevated’ traditional club sandwich- they were disappointed to see that the chicken thigh was one big piece of deep fried chicken that tasted like fish (assuming everything is deep fried in the same oil).
My husband had the fish and chips and found it to be just fair.
I will say that two of our party are big seafood fans and did very much enjoy the muscles and the seafood spaghetti.

Read moreMy Daughter had her wedding Catered at the New London Carriage House on July 30th by Ship to Shore and the only reason that there is one star is because there was food on the plates. We had mussels , chicken parm , baked haddock and chicken fingers sides were small red potatoes sliced carrots and turnip. The bride asked for no onions in anything because her father is allergic the only thing that didn’t have was the haddock, she also told them there was a severe allergy to msg and had to run and pull her plate from her aunt before she took a bite because they couldn’t confirm that there was none. My daughters were sitting next to each other with the chicken parm one was burnt and the other wasn’t cooked (still raw in the middle) we had guests leave to drive 20 minutes to get food to bring back. The vegetables weren’t cooked still hard. And when people asked for salt and pepper and butter they told them it wasn’t included I have worked in the food service industry for over 35 years and did many catering and have never not had salt and pepper. I would not recommend that anyone use this place for their event because they will be...
Read moreMy two girls and I were searching for a place to eat nearby and found Ship to Store. I realized upon approach they were extremely busy but desperate to not have to drive around more with a 3 and 5 year old I asked if they had a table available and they did. I will admit service was slow but the staff were extremely friendly and went above and beyond to make up for the delay with free French fries and a drink. My girls and I played eye spy to keep them occupied. Once we got our food, it was delicious! I had muscles and a Caesar salad and my daughters had a burger and fries. I’d have to say the fries were the best I have ever tasted! The chocolate mousse which is gluten free was also very yummy! We almost had to cancel our trip out east because our car was damaged due to a break in and the scarcity of a rental vehicle that would accommodate our camping gear. This place with the generosity of the staff gave me a bit more faith back in humanity. The above and beyond generosity was unexpected and really not necessary but very appreciated. We left Ship to Store with smiles on our faces and...
