short story long, this was awful. we were sat there for 2 hours before we got a single entree. half our table had to leave as it took too long to get food and they had younger children who needed to be put to bed. the food was mediocre at best which is wild considering the price per entree.
in the last few years it seems there has been a new owner which is the worst decision possible. iâve had better service at a chip truck and better food. the place was severely understaffed and our poor waitress seemed to be the only one on the floor. the restaurant became filled w smoke after being sat for an hour to the point where our eyes starting to sting. as it did not seem like anyone was too keen to solve this issue, we ended up opening a window ourselves.
by the time we got our first entree arrived half the restaurant had cleared out and the food was cold. i donât rly understand that part because what do u mean it took 7 years and is cold enough to be raw.
all in all, this was so bad iâd give it a zero. but i canât, so instead i give it a one.
UPDATE: my uncle just received a call from the owner saying that we were called told it would be a 3 hour wait. when we asked who was spoken with he said âthey know who they areâ. unfortunately we donât as no call was received from anyone (we did check everyoneâs call history). this used to be a place we held near and dear to our hearts and itâs now been completely tarnished. we were told that if we werenât happy that is our own problem as well never find anywhere better on lake jo. this is such disgusting behaviour and beyond unprofessional. the staff truly felt so bad as even they knew our experience was unacceptable. our waitress apologized profusely despite us telling her we knew she had no control of this terrible experience.
to Ray: i hope this restaurant tanks now that youâve taken over as i truly have had better service and hospitality at a mcdonaldâs. if you donât care about the business thatâs fine but maybe hire someone who doesnât treat their employees terribly so that they can provide mediocre service instead of this terrible experience. if you treat your staff properly, that will be reflected in their work ethic. and it is clear that you do not. i hope you have the day you deserve and that your phone charger only works when you hold it at a...
Read moreMy wife and I decided to give this place a shot for her birthday dinner, and we weren't disappointed. The food was great, atmosphere and location were perfect, and the service was awesome as well. One of my drinks was made incorrectly, and our server didn't wait a second to make things right - she even hopped behind the bar to remake it herself so I didn't have to wait. My only regret it's that we didn't tip Katie more. I've seen others complain that service is slow here, and I guess I can understand that, but I can't help but wonder if those same people bothered to mention this in the moment to speed up their visit, or if they just waited to complain online. Sure, it's not the fastest place, but I'd rather not feel rushed along after paying this much for a steak. A steak that was delicious and cooked perfectly. As somebody who's not overly affluent, and didn't expect to be hitting a nice restaurant during our stay at the cottage, I was concerned I might be shunned for wearing Crocs and looking like I'd slept in a ditch for a week. Nevertheless, no judgement was cast and I didn't have to defend my wardrobe choice to all the rich folk in the parking lot. We booked our table for 6:15p and had no wait despite it being quite busy. The restaurant was less busy a little later, so I'd consider 7:30 to get a spot on the patio next time. Now, if only we could abandon this ridiculous idea that wearing a mask as you walk through the resto, and then removing it to eat, is keeping people safe. Do y'all actually believe this? Like REALLY, TRULY believe this with your natural institution, NOT what has been parroted by the media for nearly 2yrs now? Fortunately, it looks like most of the other patrons do n't believe this nonsense either - which was refreshing to say the least... Eat your veggies, drink lots of clean water, spend time outdoors, and...
Read moreThis is a very nive looking place with a great view. It was little confusing for me since it looks like a fine dining but the service was like a regular pub level. May be evening it is different. Having said that waitress was very nice and polite. One big issue for me, when I went to my table, there were pieces of food left from the previous customer on the table (you can even see it in one of the images and this is not acceptable in a normal time but during Covid, it is horrible. This shows that they are not following the rules of. Sanitizing between customer. This is the reason for 3 stars, otherwise 3.5 to 4 stars can be given. Another thing I don't like was individually packaged condiments, may be it is for pandemic purposes but it still degrades the service.
Food was really good. Amazing fries and great burger, I would definitely recommend. Burger was $22 if I am not wrong. It is above the range of this level of service I might say. Alcohol was expensive, they have a great wine list, really expensive stuuf too. This is the. Point I got confused, I would expect a little higher end service at a place with this kind of prices.
Set up is great, indoor dining room look good and decent bathrooms. As I mentioned earlier location and view is perfect.
I would consider going again but I not absolutely sure. I hope they Pay attention to this and start wiping...
