I went into the restaurant with an open mind. My wife saw a post on Facebook that there was a Friday Fish & Chip Special on, 2 plates for $19.99. I thought, you can tell a restaurant by their fish and chips.

We asked for Pepsi to drink while we looked over the menu. When our drinks arrived, my wife asked for a new glass, as the glass she was given has lipstick on it (strike 1).

We ordered the special and an order of onion rings to start. We were the only people in the dining area. There were a few people at the bar on the way in.

After we placed our order, 2 older women came in, and ended up ordering the soup that was on special. Being only soup, the womens order arrived before ours. I must say, as the waitress walked by us with the soup, it looked quite good. A few minutes after the soup was dropped off, one of the women flagged down the waitress and told her that their soup was cold (strike 2).

When our Onion Rings arrived, the rings themselves were huge. Very, very good. Best onion rings I've ever had. I asked the waitress, she said they were homemade. You must definately try them.

Our Fish & Chips arrived within a resonable time. The batter was crispy. I remember reading in the menu, the batter was supplied by a local brewer. The fries obviously homemade. My wife and I noticed a beer taste from the batter.

All in all. I have to say, I would return, to try something else on the menu and give the restaurant another chance. The waitress was very polite and attentive. The food was nicely presented and...

My wife and I are in the business and we have rarely found a decent spot to catch a bite that doesn't disappoint in some way. We have become accustomed to this and thus don't bother going out much anymore. Sometimes I think we might be to picky because we work(ed) in the biz but then since the pandemic the cost of everything going up I'd have to say HELL NO! My money is worth the critique. So I can say that service was ok but not great (never asked if I wanted more coffee until the end and we had to ask twice for lemon for our water and they were not even close to busy). In fact the person who sat us was quick to mention she was leaving for her shift and had no idea what was being offered for dinner even though she asked us originally if we were coming in for lunch(?) It's 4pm! Fish was hot and delicious, fish was crunchy crispy awesomeness, however the Blue Burger was wierd, smoky BBQ sauce with blue cheese ew I should have known better but hey I'm adventurous, both our fries were on point, no bad dirty tasting grease like some places...sad to say that my 3 stars are a direct result of the burger being bone dry to the point of needing a water chaser and the service. We had a much friendlier smile and goodbye then when we came in.

*This was posted 6 days ago and no response from the owners/managers. Wow I guess they don't care! My colleagues (2) have gone since my wife and I did and still no changes. One waited 1hr for their food and they were not busy...

Ordered takeout through the website. The website is easy to use, but has some usability issues, and was a little frustrating.

I payed a 20% tip in advance, as prompted by the site because food service people work hard, and I trust that, for the prices they demand, they will double check a takeout order before it goes out the door.

I had a classic burger and Caesar salad. The salad had no dressing, and there was a raw asparagus heel under the burger patty. The patty was dry and broken into 2 pieces. No condiments came with it, nor was I asked if I wanted any, so I didn't think to ask. Also, there is not a place on the website to request any, and the description does not say that it comes without.

I will say that the rest of the food that was ordered was fair and correct.

Unfortunately, I had arrived by boat, and was long gone when I checked my order, so there's really nothing I could do about it, other than eat a dry burger with a side of dry lettuce that I payed $20 plus a 20% tip for.

The restaurant was not busy at all, so I'm not sure why they couldn't take a minute to make sure that they got my order correct.

Overall, quite disappointed in the order, especially in light of the premium prices. It's convenient for boaters, though, just be sure to double check your order. I'd also suggest not ordering via...

My wife and I recently tried CC's Restaurant located in Rideau Ferry between Perth and Smiths Falls. We loved it - the place, the food and the service. Portions were generous and the quality of the food was fabulous. My wife had the haddock and chips and the fish was on a whole different level than you typically find in a restaurant. It was thick, meaty and delicious. I tried the Bacon Ranch Club and it too was excellent. The service was very friendly and the food came in relatively short order. Prices were mid level but reasonable, especially given the quality of the food. There is occasionally live music which is another bonus. Speaking of bonuses, the location is gorgeous. You can sit down by the water and relax after a very satisfying meal! Needless to say, we'll be back.

Quite disappointed. I understand that covid has made changes and business is harder, but the service here was non existent. You have to order your drinks at the bar and bring them to your own table, and your food needs to be ordered at the bar as well. Then you are called to come pick up you food. I expect this service at Mc Donald's not when paying good money for a meal. On top of that the payment machine requests a tip. There needs to be service for tips to be paid. Sorry but I would not return here again. And I would not recommend this restaurant. Plus serving the food in plastic cups and paper bags. Unfortunately this is just a way to cheap out on the required staff and get the most for their money.

What is better than good food at a fantastic location? Good pub food and drinks combined with a large outdoor BBQ for chicken, ribs and burgers. Due to Covid, you order and pay for your food first while you select your table. Outdoor options available including on the patio or step down to the open tented area on the lawn with picnic tables closer to the river. The food is ready once your name is called and then you can enjoy your meal while taking in the view of the passing boats. Tonight, live music was also provided after 6pm but check their website or Facebook page to find out when it's available. Riverside location is great, about 15 km from either Perth or Smith's Falls.
