Slightly disappointed with this place... Or perhaps I had higher expectations. The food was OK... OK meaning the quality just isn't there. It's not prepared through a kitchen but put together quickly behind the coffee counter. We had the Buffalo chicken waffle and the chicken was like that pre cooked salty, spongy sort of texture. The flavors were a really salty without a whole lot of flavor. The other one we had was the oreo, which was OK as well. Just didn't blow away my tastbuds. The Cafe decor is cute but it's sort of weird because it shares its space with a pharmacy, walk in clinic sort of place. I wouldn't say that this place was horrible or anything, the presentation of the food was great, it was clean, good coffee... I just...

Was working in town and using Google maps as part of my coffee exploration. I found this hidden gem relatively near my hotel. They serve drumroaster coffee from BC.

The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The coffee was great, not too acidic or over roasted like a lot of hipster coffee places, with a hint of cherry and walnut with their medium roast.

The bubble waffles sandwiches was definitely something I was interested in, unfortunately that this is only served on weekends.

Nevertheless I grabbed a scone and coffee as part of my afternoon break. The atmosphere is quite open, as it shares space with the pharmacy. So if you ever need to wait for your prescriptions, definitely grab a coffee and Relax until your...

The specialty drink...was mediocre. Service was mediocre. The atmosphere was strange as it's in a pharmacy but even its advertised pictures leave out any pictures that show it's inside a pharmacy. But the service was mediocre at best. Took longer compared to other places. It was not a welcoming warm experience and then the cost was the most expensive oat milk vanilla latte I've ever paid in all of Edmonton or any other city I have personally been to. Seeing as the big brand competitions such as Starbuck & Blenz, or Second Cup & Remedy. Advertising a specialty cafe is not just selling a coffee but you're selling an experience. Another disappointing experience and a mediocre drink in one year of being...

Since I am always on the hunt for good local coffee shops, I was happy to be introduced to Awake Coffee. They use locally roasted coffee beans/chocolate to make their beverages. My friend who got premium hot chocolate made with real chocolate described the flavour as "superbly rich without question". I had the cappuccino and LOVED it. Their bubble waffle was slightly different than traditional Hong Kong waffles I've tried (chewier and denser), but still amazing. If you are looking for a good coffee/chocolate drink place on south side of Edmonton, Awake Coffee may just be it. I will definitely go back, especially for their bubble waffle.
