If I could, I would give this restaurant a zero. The only thing it has going is a phenomenal view of the bridge. This place was highly recommended for celebrating Father's Day, someone I see once a year or less...
Experience: When you drive in, there is plenty of parking and offers a great view right off the bat. Upon entering, the place is quaint and cozy esthetically. Beautiful outdoor patio overlooking the water with indoor sections for family eating with 1960s blue booths and a bar section with table tops in the back.
The restaurant could use a deep clean as there are dark spots in corners, crumbs on tables, booths, and chairs, streaks on windows and tables.
The place had roughly 9 groups of people dining when we arrived with two servers, two individuals in the back in the kitchen, and a manager. Our server was a young girl who looked fresh (sweet nonetheless). She served us our drinks within 15 minutes, and we waited for our appetizer to arrive.
Around the 1.5-hour mark, we finally received appetizers. My aunt and her bf got the onion soup, which they said was delicious, and I got the spinach and artichoke dip that came with store bought tortillas. The dish was probably the most grainy, watery, oily, and cold dip I've ever had for a spinach and artichoke dip....but I was famished. I ate 3 quarters of the appetizer trying to buy the time for our main courses....that failed to come... forever....
Our main courses arrived 2 hours and 15 minutes later after entering the restaurant. When the meal was received, the chicken was so cold, it made my fingertips cold. Clearly, their smoked meats are not made on the spot or prepped the same day. The chicken was clearly frozen or refrigerated. No juice (meat tight together due to cold), and the skin of the chicken is shriveled like it's gotten moist from freezer or fridge. How do you fail microwaving pre smoked chicken? The fries were cold, the meat all overly cooked and cold.....
The restaurant at one point filled up to roughly 12 groups of people where some who arrived before us were served, finished eating and paying bills, and others who got up and walked out because they were not served. 12 groups, 2 groups of 5, 2 groups of 4, and the rest dyads and triad groupings. 6 tables per waitress at peak time. The place was only a quarter full. Made me question when they get full and how they manage the demands.
A note to the owner and manager today --- Back house, or front, everyone is responsible. Most importantly, the manager is the one in charge to ensure the ship isn't sinking. They need to not only jump in when and where needed but also delegate and train staff effectively so when things fall behind, they dont snowball into what happened today. The ship definitely sank for myself and several other patrons from what I saw today.
I appreciate the full day of traveling without eating and will remember this fathers Day for the rest of my life.
Word of mouth marketing is the most powerful and strongest marketing there...

Our family (2A2C) went for a little drive out of town with a hope to get a bite before a little time fishing in the river. We saw this place online and thought "decent reviews...why not?" We drove there (only about 35 min from Barrhaven) and it was exactly what we thought. A quaint little diner on the waterfront.
We sat inside (then shifted to outside when a table with an umbrella opened up- there were only 4 out of a patio of about a dozen+ tables) and ordered our drinks. A kid's milk, a milkshake (about 30% of it was whipped cream) and a coffee. We then selected our meals and ordered a kid's grilled cheese and salad (nice though simple, as it should be for a kids meal), a fish burger with fries which is actually a fish and chips placed on a bun (???), a club sandwich with fries and a little mayo on the side as sometimes the sandwich comes very light on mayo for all the ingredients on a club (solid sandwich and fries, again as it should be for a diner as it's a staple), and an all you can eat mussels which comes with a tomato sauce or a white wine and cream sauce. My wife choce the white sauce and sadly it was more like a mussels alfredo that anything light and fragrant. That being said, the mussels were cooked perfectly.
We had to get going so we asked for the bill from our server who was pleasant and kind throughout the entire experience. We paid and left and it was only after when I looked at the receipt that the "oddly high" bill started to make sense. Here's the breakdown: *number of exclamation marks = level of price insanity Club $17.95 Extra mayo $1.50!!!!!!!!!!!! (for a tiny plastic cup and I was never told there was an extra charge) Kid's grilled cheese $9.00 Crispy fish burger $18.50!! All you can eat mussels $20.75 Kid's milk $3.50!!! Coffee $3.00!! Milkshake $9.00!!!!!!! ( I had no idea I was in the same diner as Pulp FIction movie)
Overall the place is in a nice location with nice servers but it is also simply a diner serving diner food that's "ok" to which the prices are (mostly) completely outrageous.
I'd go if I were you but you'd really REALLY better be careful what you order unless you have just recently come into an inheritance or you won...
Read moreFor all those people scrolling endlessly through these reviews let me describe the experience I had. Firstly we got there and it was cozy and cute, the waiter seated us immediately and she let us choose where we wanted to sit. Then she took our drink orders but offered us a drink that wasn’t on the menu and didn’t mention the price. Then shortly after she came back with our drinks (Shirley Temple, seven up) the seven up was really watery and the waiter took our cups when we weren’t all the way finished with our drinks and never offered us more or came back with refills. Our waiter came again when we were ready to order they came and impressed us with their memory skills by not writing down any of our orders but after 30+ minutes of waiting our food came with little error. We ordered the “three tacos”, “chicken tenders and fries with gravy” and “margarita pizza”. Our chicken tenders came with bbq sauce instead of gravy. Over all our food was delicious and for when you do visit, if you order fries they do not put salt on it so if you prefer salted fries, you will have to use the table salt. Another thing we noticed was when we were paying towards the end, your receipt didn’t breakdown the things you ordered, it just said your total and how much you tipped. So those Shirley Temple drinks to this day are undefined how much they cost. In the end, I wouldn’t drive out of your way to go to this restaurant but if you’re in the area and you don’t have many options then this restaurant will surely...
