Wonderful restaurant. I left there feeling so satisfied with the food, price & portions ... Definitely going back! We went on a Sunday afternoon for an early dinner, so the atmosphere was very quiet. It's not a huge dining room, so it gives you a cozy feeling, but it's spaced out enough that you're not bumping into anyone. The food was fresh & delicious. They didn't over charge for measly portions. I made the mistake of ordering a double poutine to share as a side & it was a meal in itself ... would definitely feed two people nicely. The waitress was very pleasant & appeared at the right times. It's nice to have a family restaurant in town with good, flavourful food & affordable. The cheesecake was so smooth, it was like eating whipped cream & the topping wasn't overly sweet like the canned stuff you get at other bigger restaurants and the cinnamon knots .... OMG ... so good! We live in Shanly & we just found our new go to for a cozy sit down meal or take out. They have a little of everything so its going to be easy to make the six of us happy! Haven't been this happy since before the 730 Truck Stop burnt down on 22! Added bonus ... their sandwich board welcomes dogs, so this summer it will be nice to take the pupper out exploring & have somewhere to go for some ice cream or a bite to eat & not have to leave...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband ordered the lasagne. The lasagne is listed under sides ... it should be listed under main dishes because it is a full-size portion. Aside from that, they got everything about it right. It wasn't dried out, and the taste was spot on.
Someone gave a review here about the butter chicken. Well, I read her review and had to try it for myself. It was incredible and big enough to feed two people. A mound of delicious rice (and I'm not really a rice person) and a fresh salad with the most delicious homemade herb dressing filled one dinner plate ... the chicken and bread filled a second dinner plate. The bread looked like Naan bread, but had a texture similar to filo ... simply delicious.
Our friend had the Philadelphia cheese steak, but wanted it on sourdough bread. The chef and waitress warned it might not be too easy to manage, but they were more than willing to prepare it for her any way she wanted. She decided to order it on their fresh baked sourdough bread, and it looked prefect (this from a girl that grew up right outside Philly). It looked so good that I plan to go back to try it on their sourdough bread.
We buy their sourdough bread, now I need to see if they sell the dressing.
Our waitress was just as incredibly as the food (a sweet red head ... must find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe visited this restaurant tonight with a group of eight, and unfortunately, the experience was a bit disappointing. The service wasnāt terrible, but it also wasnāt warm or attentive. Two of the meals came out first, and we waited another 10ā15 minutes for the rest of the tableās food. Even then, our 3- and 11year oldās meals still hadnāt arrived. It took an additional 5ā10 minutes before their chicken fingers and fries were finally brought out and they were burnt.
To the restaurantās credit, they did remove the item from the bill when we pointed it out, but honestly, I was surprised it even made it out of the kitchen in the first place. I also requested no cheese on my wrap and still received it with cheese.
The bright side is that 5 out of 8 of us did enjoy their meals. Unfortunately, the inconsistent timing, errors with orders, and serving burnt food really overshadowed the positives. I think this place has potential, but thereās work to be done on service, communication, and quality control before...
