We went to this restaurant to try something new. Initially we were going for dosa. The menu was very diverse with lots of options so we elected to order a paneer dosa and a karahi chicken and tandoori roti. We ordered in Punjabi to avoid any confusion with our order and waited for the food. As we were waiting over 30 minutes, we noticed that the floors were not cleaned, the tables not properly wiped off and the refrigerated display cases were filthy and not sealed. We did consider leaving before our food arrived. We were not served or offered any water prior or during our meal. When the dosa arrived, there was a long black hair clearly visible on one of the ends. Neither of us made a move to dig into it and the staff blatantly ignored our looks and gestures for attention to alert them to this. When they brought the chicken dish and roti, we pointed it out and declined a remake. I can comment that the coconut sauce and the sambar appeared very thin and unappealing though we didn’t taste it. The chicken dish was rich in flavour though it was not deboned and difficult to eat with a single plastic spoon and single napkin provided. The tandoori roti was delicious and crisp. There was no working bathroom to wash hands in and we had to request more napkins. The owner added 3 gulabjamans onto our tray and then tried to charge us for them though we didn’t order them. At no time did any of the staff check on us to see how our experience was or the food. The entire atmosphere was not pleasant and we will not be returned and do not recommend this...
Read moreOur experience at this restaurant in Canada was absolutely horrendous, and I cannot stress enough how unprofessional their establishment is. Our recent visit there left us utterly appalled by both the food and the service. We specifically went there with the intention of ordering a masala dosa, and that's where the nightmare began.
Firstly, they had the audacity to charge us an additional dollar compared to what was clearly displayed on their banner and menu. When we dared to question this blatant overcharge, their staff responded with an astonishing level of rudeness and an utter lack of willingness to apologize. Instead of owning up to their mistake, they tried to justify it by claiming that the prices were on COVID times. Seriously? It's been months since COVID ended, and they still haven't bothered to update their menu prices. This level of negligence and indifference towards their customers is beyond infuriating.
And let's not even get started on the food itself. The masala dosa we ordered was an absolute disgrace to the dish. The coconut chutney served with it was nothing more than a sad concoction of coconut milk. It was not just disappointing; it was downright embarrassing. We wouldn't wish this culinary abomination on our worst enemy.
In conclusion, we cannot, in good conscience, recommend this restaurant to anyone. The combination of their exorbitant and unjustified prices, abysmal customer service, and disgraceful food quality makes this establishment a place to avoid...
Read moreDone with this place. I was just there to get some samosas and Gulab jamun. The owner told me on the phone it was 1 piece for 90 cents. I get there and I'm told 9 pieces for $9.95. That math doesn't add up. I say, shouldn't it be 10 or more for $9.95. The owner agrees on 10 pieces for that price. I just got home to find just nine pieces in the box.
The time before this I went to pickup some dinner. I wanted a 2L of coke too. They said it was $3.99 for a two litre. I told them that I could get it way cheaper at the 7/11 in the same parking lot. I was then asked "who would you rather buy it from?". I lose sales to Indian people over $50 difference, even after I've done the work. You think I'm going to give any loyalty to you people?
Add to this that the debit machine asks for a tip and doesn't give a no tip option. You have to select $ and put $0. I'm not paying a tip at a take out restaurant, nor will I ever pay a tip to any Indian restaurant or business. And this place just lost my business for good.
As per the owners response. He did not actually weight anything. We discussed 10 for that price. Why would you not just punch it in at 90 cents for each individual one since I'm getting charged a dollar more for the same amount. Again, the owner himself agrees on 10 pieces and only put in 9. You did not honour the agreement. Any Indian person would throw a fit over such a thing. Bunch...
