Kaze Japanese Restaurant — Restaurant in Enderby

Pleasantly surprised by this gem of a Japanese restaurant in Enderby. I drove from Vernon to meet a friend from Salmon arm for dinner and our usual go to was closed. But Kaze popped up on our map as open so we decided to go. We ordered the Kaze roll to share and it was delicious. The picture does not show the full order as we had already started to eat before I took the Pic. We also each ordered the assorted nigiri sushi dinner which was fresh, expertly prepared and delicious. I moved to the north Okanagan from a large city in Ontario and this Japanese restaurant is the better than any of the Japanese places in Vernon or kelowna. It serves excellent nigiri sushi and well done rolls which let the flavor of the fish and ingredients shine, unlike the majority of restaurants that serve a multitude of rolls with sauces on top or deep fried rolls. I wasn't quite sure what to expect when first visiting Kaze. The restaurant is located inside of an old heritage home downtown enderby, first going inside it's definitely a different restaurant, as it's simply a house with tables in it. The waitress was very pleasant and provided great service and a friendly attitude, couldn't ask for better. The food was the best part though, everybody got a different variety of foods and everything was very delicious... Maybe a bit on the expensive side for some dishes but overall was fairly priced. Don't come here in a rush. The food takes a while, but it's absolutely worth the wait. Enjoyed having some sake while waiting, service was friendly and attentive even though the food took a little bit our glasses were never empty. When the food did arrive, everything was amazing. I used to live in Vancouver where sushi was abundant (for a comparison) i will say this restaurant is by far one of the best I've been to, Japanese cuisine, or otherwise.
