I took my wife on a date here, we both loved it! Nice and clean, the restaurant was also well decorated for Christmas. The bathroom was very unique and nice, had a plant on the countertop, and there is a second papertowel dispenser and garbage can right by the door, nice touch. The waitress was great, perfect speed coming out to check on us, not so fast that it makes you feel panicked to order, but no delay at all in getting our drinks and meal ordered- nice amount of checks on us and very attentive and friendly, there were no awkward moments of waiting, she did awesome! My wife was super thrilled with the gluten free menu as well, she got a chicken bacon ranch melt, she said it was all delicious and the bacon was cooked just right. I have never tried a steak dip, anywhere, so Iâm glad my first experience with one was at The Flats. My wife laughed because I normally wouldnât make a bunch of good comments about the side salad that comes with a meal, but it was the best salad Iâve ever tasted at a restaurant (my wife and mom make the best homemade salads of course) I wonât go into detail, but it did stand out above the rest for restaurant salads. My wife and I both commented on the sides being really good, a good portion of crispy fries also hit the spot. And then the steak dip- perfectly toasted bun with the shaved steak and sautĂ©ed onions, it was a great combination of flavours from the seasoning on the meat, the spread on the bun and the dip , mm mmm! Oh, and when you canât finish your whole meal, everything warms up really good as well. The price was right. Aye, I come from a line of Scottish âthriftyâ men, and throw into that also generational cattle farmers, so itâs in my blood to get a little nervous going out to restaurants and seeing the bill- but with this bill I did not cringe once for what we got/ thatâll do lassie, thatâll do, ...

Read moreOrdered 2 ribeye steak dinners and an appetiser on a date night with no alcahol where the total came to well over $100. Both steaks were overcooked with sub-par seasoning, at over $40 a meal this should be unacceptable. This is not the first time this has happened to me here either, and i refuse to give the mashed potatoes a second chance, which is downright impressive to mess up. I will however recommend the wings, since they're at a pretty reasonable price for the quality.
I genuinely hope the owner either lowers the price's, or gets a new chef. An at home cook shoud not be able to easily beat a $40 steak.
Service was good and it was genuinely nice to not be asked "how is your food" every 5 minutes, so the wait staff have nothing to do with the poor rating, keep them...
