My partner and our friends went to Granny’s today for supper. They placed their order first, and ours was rung through just a few moments after, however in that moment between, somebody called in a takeout order unbeknownst to us. Our friends’ food came very fast! But they had to make the takeout order before they could do ours. They apologized profusely for the delay, which was seriously no big deal. We were not bothered in the least. At least twice again they popped over to the table to apologize and said they would treat us to a nice dessert for the inconvenience! (Which we were not bothered by). Upon our food arriving -still within a totally acceptable timeframe- we could not get over how good it was. It wasn’t super greasy, wasn’t over battered, it was very flavourful and crispy. The family oriented environment made us feel right at home. We told stories, laughed and had a great experience. After our supper plates were polished off, a very nice lady brought us over our promised dessert which we absolutely made room for. Stopping at Granny’s tonight was the perfect end to a great day. What was supposed to be a quick bite before the drive home turned into an evening of laughter and memories. Staff is amazing, food was delicious, service we received can’t be topped. 10/10.

We ordered from the take-out window. I had the Bacon Mozzarella Burger Platter ($17.59), and my wife chose the Pan-Fried Scallops ($17.65). I should have asked more questions about the burger, but based on the price, I expected something more substantial. Unfortunately, it was thin, dry, and lacked flavor—comparable to a frozen bulk burger, if not worse. The only redeeming part was the toppings I requested, which provided the only real flavor. The fries were generic, frozen, and dry...nothing memorable. My wife's scallops were okay but on the small side, especially compared to what’s served at Diane's just up the road. For $7 more, you can get significantly larger and better scallops at Diane’s, making it a better value in our opinion. On a positive note, the lady who served us was pleasant and friendly. Overall, we found the food disappointing for the price point and would not be returning based on this experience.

Nova Scotia is a province steeped in legend and history - and legend has it that if you go down to the beaches looking out on Five Islands in the early mornings, you will find Granny tirelessly digging clambs before the easterly Nova Scotia sunrise. The legend is demystified when you try Granny's fried clams. They are so fresh, legend also has it, that if you inspect them closely enough, you will see Granny's fresh fingerprints on the clams themselves.

🚨🚨Honest review🚨🚨 portion size was tiny, all fries, we paid just over 50 bucks for these 2 plates. The food is good, good service, good atmosphere, clean, but..... when the plates hit the table, my fiance and I were very underwhelmed. Usually, when you go to a place like this, they give you a big pile. Fish filet for the fish and chips was tiny also, which isn't a big deal because it was really good. But if you are going to charge that much money for it, maybe give a little extra somewhere else? Left this place, tummy still growling Very disappointed in that sense. For reference and comparison, if you want to see what right looks like. Go to Pleasant street diner in Dartmouth

Can't even finish a 25 dollar plate over there, and the quality is amazing.

I usually don't write reviews this long, but an amazing day ended with the feeling of being robbed blind. I hope it was just a one off kind of thing 🤔😐

Also....the Cole...
