Bryson's Bistro Du Bucheron — Restaurant in Fort-Coulonge

THE WORST dining experience in a very long time!

July 25th. 2018 We were a party of eight with reservations for 7 PM as recommended by the Bistro due to earlier reservations. The specials that evening were Chicken Alfredo with Fettuccini or Penne and Rack of Ribs but they had run out of Ribs. We ordered our drinks and appetizers and then our meals. The drinks arrived but it took over an hour to get our appetizers and the 2 orders of escargots did not come with any bread to sop up the butter, even when we requested some bread! Smaller forks were requested but were told to use our dinner fork to eat this appetizer. Half hour later our meals arrived: the Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo turned out to be Penne Alfredo because they ran out of Fettuccini but did not tell us, and it only had 3 tiny pieces of chicken, but no garlic bread. I asked about the 3 orders of garlic bread due and the waitress said they were making them now; the 6 little slices of baguettes arrived when we had finished eating our meals! Both Salmon Wellington were made with spinach instead of the Asparagus as indicated on the menu. The 10-ounce Striploin steak turned out to be a 6 ounce steak at the most! The kitchen seemed very disorganized and during the meal quite, a commotion in the kitchen when a loud crash of dishes fell to the floor. I was witness to some of the dishes that had landed and slid into the hallway. Many other customers were very disgruntled that evening and I believe that the Bistro lost a lot of costumers due to REALLY bad service and no communication with the clients.

My husband & I came here for Sunday breakfast/brunch, didn’t have any sort of idea what to expect as I was not able to find a breakfast menu online.

My husband ordered the omelette Lorraine & I had the breakfast club sandwich, both meals exceeded our expectations & came with the most delicious home fries with caramelized onions!

While we waited for our meals, Jane the Owner circulated & chatted with us. Super friendly, very passionate about her business & spoke with us about her plans to advertise more to the Ottawa Valley.

We can not wait to come back here for brunch with friends, also absolutely wanting to come...

Awesome venue - mmmmm great burger!

First time there for dinner on Canada Day weekend - food was awesome (absolutely yummy Potato Soup). The folks we brought with us were blown away by the converted barn in which is now the dinning room. So, there was a couple at a nearby table that were frustrated with the long wait for their food - if you have never dined in Quebec, or France for that matter, you need to get that there is a different pace to the dining experience - if you are not up for a dining experience that will last an hour, or two, you should just head back to Tim Horton's...
