The Harbourage is by far the best dining experience in Fort Frances. The food is absolutely the best experience in the nice quiet border town. Stop in sit down and listen to the classic rock and roll playing on the over head radio as you enjoy the best choices of your own selection of dining fare. They have a hug selection of well prepared amazing food and fresh made pies for the day. The food I have had the pleasure enjoying on my first experiece was The Monte Cristo 9/10 Amazing lots of swiss and a good portion of ham. Blend the flavours well together. Have been used to the french toast having cinnamon but does not seem to be in the recipe here but amazingly prepared and with enough to platte the prefect bit everytime. The Philly Steak 8/10 Near perfect but the meat seemed a little dry but extremely tender cam with a side of Ou Jus to compensate for it well. I personally will go for extra swiss next time but the sandwich was extremely enjoyable. Milk Sakes 9.5/10 Made with real ice cream the strawberry shake even had a few berries in it self... the only complaint is there was more of it. But, fair for the price. Hot Roast Pork and Fries with Gravy 10/10 the roast pork was astoundingly flavourful it was beyond tenders and tastes like well browned oven meat. The gravy gave it the perfect sauce to complement the bread and pork tenderness. Fries we fresh cut and crispy the perfect golden brown. The pie was amazing flaky thin crust home style coconut cream pie with a hug compliment of wiped cream was absolutely the perfect finish to the meal 9.5/10. Just wish it had a thicker flaky crust. But, that doesn't take away from the amazing pie they don't need to change a thing. Would recommend this dinner to absolutely everyone it is amazing. It will be extemely friendly to toddlers and seniors as well. Because the meat is so soft and tender those without teeth or problmes chewing will easily be able to make it into the full meal as well as the food is so well prepared for eating that each bit even if you have a full set of chompers leaves your mouth asking for another one. This is a must stop and eat experience. Will not want to eat anywhere else into after you have the chance to dine here. Will be making...
Read moreWe stopped on a Friday evening, at 6pm. There was only 2 of us and the restaurant was maybe a little more than half full when we arrived. The waitress came to our table quickly and took drink orders but stumbled to give any real recommendations when asked. As well, it wouldn’t hurt to smile and greet your customers also. We each ordered a burger and the appetizer combo to share. It took 45 minutes to get the appetizer which arrived without any other plates, so we had to use napkins if you wanted to set your food down. And not even a “sorry for the wait” by the waitress. The combo plate was all deep fried, and consisted of some plain breaded chicken wings, breaded mushrooms, breaded cheese sticks and jalapeño poppers. All were bland as plain rice, and lacked any sort of taste or appeal. No one came to refill our drinks, so after sitting there for a total of 75 minutes or so, having still not received our burgers, I paid for our drinks and the appetizer, which we didn’t finish, and we left. This is absolutely one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life. If I could leave less than 1...
Read moreWhen we arrived there was a queue but when I see that.. I know there must be a reason! We waited for about 15-20 for a table to clear and that was not a problem for us. It was our first time in Fort Frances visiting my sister and she recommended this joint. The service staff seemed to be very busy but still keeping up with all service standards. The patrons seemed to be all and older crowd of locals. We were sat in a nice corner table and was able to view the harbour front. We ordered standard breakfast and it came in a timely fashion. Coffee was always topped up as well. At one point the one waitress said to my boyfriend “Hi how’s it going!! It’s been a while!!” She thought he was someone else.. she was a total sweetheart and let us know that he has a twin. Keep up the fabulous work, whenever we visit FF we will return to the Harbourage...
