North Arm Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Fort St. James

I recently called on a Monday at 5:00. 8 people were hoping to have dinner at the Pub, if I phoned to confirm that they were serving dinner and open, etc. I was given a terrible time on the phone from a lady who answered my call. " We are always open" she said. I replied, " I was looking at your social media, and you are closed Sundays, and I was asked to call ahead" She said, rather brutally " WELL IT ISN'T SUNDAY, IT'S MONDAY". Very rude and unfriendly. I have lived here 17 years, NEVER have we been treated like this at this establishment. A MORE " appropriate " response would have been, " Hello, yes, we are open, our Dinner...

This pub was my go to just after finishing a hike to the top of MT Pope which overlooks Stuart Lake. This is a rigorous walk on an ascending trail 6.3 km one way. The elevation gain is 760 meter which is amongst the best of any mountain trail. Just under 4 hours return on the trail for me. Needless to say the meal I had at this pub was a welcome reward. I had a burger sandwich along with a soup and a cold beer. The meal and drink was very tasty and refreshing. The service was cheerful, friendly...

Chairs are bit rough. Lol. Had the beef dip special and it was so good and a large serving... can't say enough good about the fries so crispy and seasoned perfect. Didn't need gravy but I'm glad i ordered it cause it made the fries even better. The Au Jus dip was some of the best... dark and flavorful. The coffee is even worth a mention as it was quite good.
