Read moreCasey's pub had been a fixture in Fort St John forever. From what I understand they recently changed management so some of what used to define the pub has changed. The famous nachos are gone, the Sunday prime rib seems to be gone. The current establishment appears to me to be struggling to define itself in a market that it now shares with the likes of brown's social house or Montana's.
Lately I've been making my way through some of their menu options. I had a burger shortly after they reopened that utterly failed to impress me, but in the last few weeks I've come to really enjoy several of their wraps, especially the peppercorn steak wrap. The beer on tap selection was never anything too amazing and that remains true.
All in all if you're in the neighborhood and you want a drink or a meal you could do worse, but I can't recommend making a special trip.

Read moreLocal watering hole. Apparently a long time ago it was more sketchy but I didn't find it to be the case at all, new management took over years ago and have made great progress. Instead the vibe is pretty friendly, casual, low key, and Wednesday nights are open mic night, it's almost more packed Wednesday than the weekend! If you want a good seat come before 8 pm. There are definitely some talented musicians in this town. Shout out to Pam who did a sweet acoustic version of Dr.Jones by Aqua.
