Casey's pub had been a fixture in Fort St John forever. From what I understand they recently changed management so some of what used to define the pub has changed. The famous nachos are gone, the Sunday prime rib seems to be gone. The current establishment appears to me to be struggling to define itself in a market that it now shares with the likes of brown's social house or Montana's.

Lately I've been making my way through some of their menu options. I had a burger shortly after they reopened that utterly failed to impress me, but in the last few weeks I've come to really enjoy several of their wraps, especially the peppercorn steak wrap. The beer on tap selection was never anything too amazing and that remains true.

All in all if you're in the neighborhood and you want a drink or a meal you could do worse, but I can't recommend making a special trip.

One final note: I suspect that covid has hit them rather hard, one more strike on a local business at a time that likely is doing no favors. They are following the guidelines and respecting rules for masks and social distancing and are open for in-...

Local watering hole. Apparently a long time ago it was more sketchy but I didn't find it to be the case at all, new management took over years ago and have made great progress. Instead the vibe is pretty friendly, casual, low key, and Wednesday nights are open mic night, it's almost more packed Wednesday than the weekend! If you want a good seat come before 8 pm. There are definitely some talented musicians in this town. Shout out to Pam who did a sweet acoustic version of Dr.Jones by Aqua.

Prices are reasonable, food prices a little high but chicken strips were on point. I was impressed how organized the waitresses are. Pool is fun and $1 a play. I can confirm there's a chance you could get some free drinks here from a local ha ha. Don't be a...

Wow. I tried some of Casey’s homemade pizza. The Italian without sausage. Recommended by some of the delightful servers. I was just really surprised that it was as good as it was. Really nice flavour and flavour combo and the dough was really good too. Nicely toasted crusts. A little soggy on the bottom but that may have just been mine. If it hadn’t been for the soggy bottom it would’ve been a home run. Thank you Casey’s for a surprisingly good lunch in FSJ. Oh, and please ad a Margherita pizza to your menu list!

Homemade burger, nice atmosphere and packed on a Monday lunch hour. 4 stars only because they were short staffed and I waited for a reasonable amount of time and eventually had to flag down a waitress to take our order. I’m sure it’s not easy to estimate the number of customers so it’s understandable and the waitress and service was good after the initial order was taken.
