@827 Fish & Chips — Restaurant in French River

Oh my goodness..... working in Alban for a few days and came to this place for lunch..... don't know where to start..... i had 2 pieces of pickerel with fries and it was absolutely delicious.... i need to say that i am an avid pickerel fisherman and i cook a lot of fish and this was as good as mine if not a bit better.... As for the price ... it is ridiculous...i had the same down the highway and paid $25 and it was not as good as this one. The cost for this dish... an incredible $12 ..... So if you are driving on hwy 69 it is absolutely worthwile to come to this place(10 mins off the highway) for a snack...you will thank...

April 2025 - Biting into my burger and finding a twist tie was a fun little reminder that this place puts more effort into packaging garbage than making actual food. What the hell is going on in that kitchen — arts and crafts? I didn’t order the ‘Choke on Metal’ combo. Absolutely disgusting. No excuses for cross contamination and a dirty kitchen. Staff was unapologetic and didn’t seem to care that this happened nor did they seem surprised… had a child been eating this would have been a trip to the ER. Burgers with a hint of metal. I guess it is better than a hair but...

I just read a review for these guys... and someone is complaining of portion sizes? Give me a break! I’ve always been happy with their portions... Now let’s talk about “Fish & Chips”... if you’re from Sudbury, you’ll know of Herbert’s Fisheries... well let’s just say that @827 is BETTER! and probably the best I’ve ever had... I’ve lived on the BC coast and been to The East Coast... and I haven’t found anyone who has better “Fish & Chips” (Try their Pickerel or White Fish combo, with a side of gravy!) Georgian Bay & French River Fish...
