My husband and I came here for the first time a week or so ago for breakfast. The ambiance was okay, nothing special. It was freezing because the A/C was hitting us and it wasn't a warm day in the first place. Kept my coat over me for the meal. There was no decaf coffee (only instant) which is very strange for a place that serves breakfast. The food was just okay. Nothing seemed seasoned and everything was very bland. I got french toast (it was the basic french toast you could make at home with wonderbread). Nothing special, but it was fine. My husband got the eggs. His beans were cold in spots and seemed like they were microwaved. Potatoes were bland (this is what didn't seem seasoned). Bacon was crispy though. Prices were a little high for what it was. There was also a tarp behind us because the place seemed to be in some kind of disrepair. The server delivered the food and never came back for the duration of the entire meal to ask if we needed another drink or anything. I went to the washroom at one point, which is in a basement. It smelled really musty and damp down there. The water from the faucet comes out spraying so I got my shirt wet. The whole place looks like it is in need of renovations. To top it off as soon as we walked in there was some goofy ultra right wing newspaper stack talking about covid (people can have their opinions, all good, but I hate when businesses make things political for no reason). Based on the great options in Keswick for breakfast (Riveredge, Symposium etc.). We wouldn't take a trip out here to go to this place again. Servers were nice though, just not super attentive and it...
Read more1 and a half hours to get food just for cold pancakes. I’ll start this by saying that i basically never post reviews, but this is so bad that i had to. when i got here, it took about 5 minutes to get a seat so i was happy with that. so we sit down, and it takes half an hour to get a menu, so we order and it takes a full hour just for our food to arrive, with no utensils for some reason. it takes about 5 minutes to get utensils and syrup which was for some reason refrigerated so i had to put all my grip strength to just get a little bit out. so finally i have everything to eat and i tried to cut a pancake and it was tough and just tore apart, and when i finally got a piece off it was lukewarm at best. it was like they had made them the hour before when i ordered them and forgot about them for an hour. i’ll give them 2 stars because i did overhear a waiter got fired today and they were super shortstaffed, and the waiter we did have was pretty nice. i’d recommend just going to timmies and if you want pancakes just go to mcdonald’s because they can at least hear them up before giving...
Read moreWhile on a long drive home from cottage country (and searching for a restaurant), we were teaching our children the importance of supporting local businesses...and thus skipping the many "Golden Arches" that were available along the way. We stumbled upon the "Garden Of Eat'n" and our lesson to our children was solidified...support local, get quality food, and meet friendly owners that are personally invested in their business. The owner served us, chatted, and made a personal connection with our children. Our dining experience was not only excellent because the food was fantastic...but, also because it impacted our family in a very positive and personal way! We will 100% be back, and we will 100% recommend this restaurant to other...
