Truly a hidden gem. Great food, great service, conveniently located inside Quality Inn by the Halifax Airport. When we returned from our trip, stayed at the same hotel. The Hidden Gem is open till 1 am, so when we arrived from the airport at midnight, tired and starving, we were hoping for a sandwich and a beer, being so late and all, but they offered us a full menu choice, and we ended up enjoying a beautiful and perfect steak, a huge fish and chips, and of course two large glasses of Stella Artois. Thank you!

Mediocre at best. We had the seafood and chocolate explosion cake. The fish was battered and tasteless, the veggies were tasteless, and the mashed were dry. Cake was very good but beware the dates are on bottom of plate there was a cheesecake in the case dated April 24. Apparently the cakes have a month shelf life.... Gross.

Went here with the family. The roasted red pepper pasta was amazing and the scallops were a decent size. All 7 of us liked our food, there was no silverware on the table but the service was great. Seems like it used to be a spot that used to allow smoking inside, because there was an odd smell.

What an experience we had. After a long day of travelling we were excited to take a quick peek into the restaurant when we noticed a gamesroom. We were so happy to partake in a game of darts or billiards. Table looked great and the sticks looked new. We all agree that we would come back for dinner drinks and games after our trip into Halifax. This blonde lady walks past and stops dead in her tracks and aggressively tells us we don’t be in there unless we order a drink. When I said we were just visiting, staying in the hotel. And just checking to see if is where we wanted to be later on. She rolled her eyes, huffed and said she was not attached to the hotel. I have never met a more horrible nasty owner (found out who she was by a waitress) of an establishment. I’m not sure where she gets off on talking to a group of ppl like that. …..the story doesn’t end there with her being miserable and rude.

She lucked out with being physically attached to the hotel and just down the road from the airport. I couldn’t see this place being busy if not for this location.

The hotel staff said we weren’t the first to...

We where invited to this restaurant during their breakfast event, we got there and the place had a musty odder and not much for seating but seemed like a nice little place, we waited a short time before be seated where we continued to wait about another 10 minutes before I’m assuming the manger/supervisor had to tell the waiter to come over to our table as they walked by several times and never acknowledged us, finally the waiter toke our order and got us our coffees, then we sat there for over an hour before my wife had to ask about our meals, by this time I was already not happy with this place and didn’t want to stay any longer, the waiter apologized and went to get our meals, she came back with half my wife’s food(missing items from the meal) and said mine was coming up and walked away, we waited almost another 5-8 mins before she come back with my order by then I didn’t even want to eat it and was very unsatisfied we ended up leaving and not eating at all, it was a waste of time to travel 25 mins out of the city to get poor and unprofessional service, we won’t be returning to the hidden gem...

I'm surprised this 'restaurant' is still even a functional establishment. Serving disgusting 16 inch frozen crust pizzas with canned sauce (says house made on the menu), and slimy green peppers for $40 bucks? Unbelievable. Also, the chicken wings are undeniably the cheapest, grossest wings I've ever had. I didn't even get a dozen wings and paid $18, tax not included. I'd give it zero stars, but obviously that's not possible. Save your mone, time, and go somewhere else after you check in; unless you want to take one bite an lose your appetite for all food in general. Owner should be ashamed. Total dive, avoid at all costs.

EDIT: Okay bud, prove it. Pictures or it didn't happen.

And I know you're not going anyhwere. You run a dive bar that's less than a kilometre away from an international airport; AND you have a VLT license.

"Out sourced" means frozen crusts, like you dont make your own dough. You use the kind hospitals order the geriatric ward, with canned sauce and 'cheese product'.

Tell me I'm...
