My husband and I decided to check out the new location for breakfast. We are local and we frequent this place when we want some fancy dining or a date night. We always support local. But after our experience today, we will never return. And we will never recommend this place again. I'll tell this story a hundred times... It was a chilly morning with a cool 10 degree Celsius temperature. I was disappointed that we couldn't sit outside for breakfast because it was so chilly. So we sat inside. The table we were sitting at was in front of a double door leading to the patio, one door being a screen door. I was getting rather cold with the morning breeze across my legs/feet so I did ask the waitress if she would mind shutting the door because I was cold. There was no issue, she shut it and we thanked her. The female owner of the business was outside on the patio with an elderly gentleman. Again, we have supported this establishment for years and we are local so i know who is who. The waitresses were back and forth the patio door serving them. No concerns. It is what it is. But at one point the female owner met 2 waitresses at the screen door and instructed them to keep the door open. One waitress informs that a customer was finding it cold and that's why it was shut. The owner was very clearly irritated with this information. She screwed up her face in such an offensive way that I actually blushed with embarrassment watching the interaction. I couldn't believe what I saw. Zero effort made to hide the fact that she did not care. The door remained closed.at that point. About 5 minutes later, the owner and the young gentleman come inside and sit at a table behind us. I say out loud to my husband that they must have found it chilly outside (because it was!). A few moments later, the female owner gets up, goes outside to retrieve something from her table, and comes back to the door. She pauses and I watched as she made the very conscious decision and effort to keep the door open. She sits back behind us. She knew exactly what she was doing in that moment. That pause at the door when she chose to keep it open spoke volumes. We got up and left. My husband didn't finish his coffee. The blatant disregard for your customer's comfort was despicable. Your level of maturity was evident when you displayed it across your face as the waitress informed you that your customer was chilly. You may throw your weight around at your staff (which you cannot seem to keep the place properly staffed and have to close down as a result of staffing while the whole town watches and understands why because you are known for very poor treatment of your staff) but I will not tolerate your ignorance. You will never see another dime from me and my family again, that I can assure you. Screw your face up at that. You will be chilly yourself one day when the place goes under....and that is inevitable. Kindness and compassion...
Read moreWas treating myself to an upscale meal before finishing my Christmas shopping and catching a movie-ruined my day-They have a limited menu and were out of two due to mushrooms-(there are two grocery stores ten minutes away that sell-omg-mushrooms!) I ordered the special Prime Rib, my favourite-food came 35 minutes later-(worked in many restaurants including 4 star hotel restaurants that serve prime rib-all of it is already made-except the steamed veggies-so not sure what took so long...) piled in a big mountain on a smallish plate-had to ask for a side plate to move some food so I could cut my meat-Yorkshire pudding was deflated and ICE cold like it had come from a fridge-and had those cheap onion bits in it-potatoes were luke warm probably from the food piled on top of them-the carrot-looked like someone peeled it-lopped into three giant pieces and threw it in the water-but they were hot-perhaps waiting for them to cook-made the rest of the plate cold...the prime rib was ok-had it been surrounded with hot food and presented with some dignity-I would have given it a thumbs up. I don't get to town often-was a real treat-I ate only the meat-the rest was garbage. Service was fine-friendly-so still left a tip-after...
Read moreIf I could rate this -5 stars, I would. While the food appears to be delicious it is absolutely disgusting. I will never ever come back here. The price is not at all cheap, honestly you would be better off going to McDonald's rather than this poor excuse of a restaurant. The service was rather good and the atmosphere gives you the false pretense that the food will be exceptional, however that is about it. I ordered the southern chicken and waffles with a side salad. First of all when you think of southern chicken and waffles you do not expect a sandwich, which is horribly bland, you can not tell the taste of the chicken from the waffles and the lettuce, the "mayo" tasted like butter, and even then butter has more flavor. How do you mess up a side salad? it is lettuce, although apparently this restaurant figured out a way, I wouldn't even call the bacon on it "bacon". Now the worse part of this meal was the bruschetta it was burned and they toped it with balsamic vinegar, some people may like this vinegar but it was still absolutely disgusting. I went here for my birthday and wasted at least $30 on this! What a waste! I would rather eat anywhere else. I DO NOT RECOMMEND...
