I visited Fin Folk Food on two occasions while in PEI. The first was with a large family group for dinner. The second was with my husband for lunch after visiting the beach (lovely by the way). On both occasions we thought the food was outstanding. The hot lobster roll is one of the best I've ever had. The chowder was also excellent. Fish tacos were good. The drinks however, were all pretty disappointing. There were 11 of us in our group on the first visit. Those who got beer or a bottled/canned beverage were happy. The few of us who had cocktails were pretty disappointed. The drinks lacked flavour and seemed weak. When my husband and I returned, we stuck with canned seltzers which were more reliable.

The service was a bit hit and miss. It is a busy place, so some confusion is understandable, but servers, while friendly and well-intentioned, seemed to lack training in some cases. On our second visit, when we ordered canned seltzers, the server brought the seltzers but no glasses. Okay, fine, maybe they forgot. My husband went up to the bar to ask for glasses and different members of staff looked at him like he's an alien. Then they offer him plastic cups. He says "Can I have two GLASS glasses please" and they grudgingly hand them over. Why is this a big deal or an odd request? Looking around, most people have glasses on their tables. Other restaurants would actually POUR your beverage into a glass for you and maybe even add a wedge of lime or something, but here plunking a can down is what you can expect I guess. At least the seafood is excellent. That is what we are all there for! Just expect a very casual environment and avoid cocktails made at the bar.

Love Love Love that they have a dog-friendly section and a wall of dog pictures! I wish we had our pup with us when we visited. I would give them a bonus star just for this if I could because it can be very hard to find places to go with your dog, especially indoors, but since the food is prepared downstairs, the upstairs section allows dogs. Big...

After reading all the great reviews we were so disappointed. We were the only table seated in the lower deck right by washrooms, every other table went upstairs. Lily our server was pleasant but not attentive, about 30 minutes after we ordered and long finished our drinks she came back to tell us their was a ‘mix up’ in the kitchen and needed to verify what we ordered? She put it in the system at our table, it would have been in the system by our table number… clearly she failed to place our order. We ordered second drinks 15 minutes later our food came, no drinks… had to remind her, ‘oh yea the should be coming’ 10 minutes later they came. I had the burger- McDonalds makes a better burger, supposed to be two 3 oz patties if they were 3 ozs it was when they weighed them together and smashed so thin they were dried out and crispy. My spouse had deep fried scallops… she said these taste like haddock not scallops, we cut them open maybe they were scallops maybe they were haddock balls…. Lily came to our table five times during our visit, to take the order, to verify the order, deliver drinks and bring the bill, but we could see her through the door gossiping with our staff and it was clear we were not a priority. This restaurant is linked to a Resort that boasts this as their on site restaurant (even though they are seperate buildings and public) and their motto seemingly is ‘Be Nice’ - plastered on signs and shirts, it as difficult this, as we could see the staff was not being ‘Nice’ to each other gossip and whispering by other staff that used the lower deck to chat.

It cost us over $100 for terrible food and even worse service. We won’t go back and don’t recommend this...

Dear resturant manager; Today, we had an early dinner at your beautiful restaurant and I have some comments for you to be aware of in order to maintain the excellent quality and reputation. *First; After we placed our order at the cashier, we noticed that there was a maintenance person behind him to maintain the air vent. But the problem was that the food (under the air vent) was not covered properly to maintain public health! And guess what happened? The ventilation cover that the maintenance person was working on fell and water mixed with dust splashed onto the food under the air vent! *Second; The young man who was working on filling the plates with salads was not wearing gloves or using (tongs) which is against the rules and health regulations in force in the province! *Third; Believe it or not; The cashier did not give me a receipt for the payment to the restaurant but asked me if I wanted to participate in the restaurant's points system and I agreed to that. *Finally; Thank you for providing a healthy option in your attractive restaurant and we look forward to eating again in the future.

Warning ⚠️ Surprisingly, was better than Red Lobster 🦞! We had really good food. Quality & quantity. We got what we paid for exactly. Fish 🐠 tacos 🌮 + fish 🐟 & chips + seafood chowder. The server were attentive and happy 😊 to help. Clean and new restaurant with beyond amazing 😻 ocean view! Kindly, treat yourself once with this amazing King portions fish and chips 😋

P.S. we would appreciate if the cashier asked us to substitute the fries 🍟 with coleslaw or salad 🥗 that...

Friendly (and clean) dogs are allowed! That automatically gives the atmosphere a 5 in my books. That being said, there were not any dogs around when we visited. The food was delicious, especially the hot lobster roll and the seafood chowder. Another member of our party had the hotdog, and said it was the best he ever had. The chicken fingers were a huge hit with the 6 year old in our group, and the pan fried haddock with salad was also a hit. I had the fish tacos and they were delicious as well. Pretty much everything comes with fries, although you can swap them out for something else for an upcharge. We also had some cocktails with our meals, and they were all pretty bland. I would suggest sticking to canned or bottled drinks if you do want something. All in all the meal was good, and my wife and I did return for a second meal so that she could get the hot lobster roll one more time before we left the Island.
