Restaurant Au Coq D'Or — Restaurant in Grande-Rivière

My girlfriend and I were passing through the area after a long camping trip in Gaspé. We were looking for a good poutine place, and I think I found our pit stop for the next trip.

Two big things that stick out when I was here; big portions, and good prices. There was so much food that I was quite stuffed and satisfied. The food was so delicious, I wish I had taken a picture of the mountain of cheese curds and gravy before I dug in! 😋

There must have been a miscommunication between the server and myself, because when they took the food away, I didn't get a doggie bag when they came back with the bill. I'll have to practice more French speaking.

Still, nothing beats having your belly filled with potatoes, cheese and gravy! And for how little it cost to get that much food, I'm definitely going...

Food was good the wait was too long I brought 6 other friends with me to the restaurant we all had paid our separate bills and the waitress demanded tips from all of us (assuming because we are young and “doesn’t know the waitresses make less and get their salary from tips”) all in all won’t be going back to a place that guilt trips a group of respectful teenagers into tips EDIT I went back to this restaurant while back on vacation from school and the service was even worse I strongly advice that if you speak English as your mother tongue to avoid this restaurant because you WILL be treated and have a very different experience than...

GUILT TRIPPING it was a very good night until it came to paying, me and many of my friends had a wonderful time until we paid, waiter got overly angry after a few of us did not leave a tip, telling us that its rude not to tip and that we owe her money for the service, I understand it’s nice to leave one but it’s not necessary and we are all teenagers with not much money. I think it was super unprofessional and I felt really offended all and all I will not be returning because of this altercation, just to clarify we were all really nice and respectful to get treated terribly at the end....
