I recently had the pleasure of dining at the diner located near Peggy's Cove, and I must say it was a fantastic breakfast spot. Not only did they offer a delicious and satisfying breakfast, but the overall value and service were exceptional. I would like to specifically mention the outstanding service provided by Kaylee, which truly enhanced my dining experience.

First and foremost, the location of the diner near Peggy's Cove was ideal. The picturesque surroundings added to the charm of the dining experience, making it a great spot to start the day before exploring the beautiful area. The diner itself had a cozy and inviting atmosphere, with friendly staff and a warm ambiance.

The breakfast menu offered a variety of options to suit different tastes and preferences. Whether you're a fan of classic breakfast staples like pancakes, eggs, and bacon, or prefer something more unique, the diner had something for everyone. The quality of the food was excellent, with fresh ingredients and flavorful dishes that left me satisfied and ready for the day ahead.

One aspect that truly stood out was the value for money. The prices at the diner were reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes and the quality of the food. It was evident that the diner aimed to provide a great dining experience without breaking the bank, which is always appreciated.

Now, let's talk about the service, particularly from Kaylee. From the moment I walked in, Kaylee greeted me with a warm smile and made me feel welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and genuinely interested in ensuring that my dining experience was top-notch. She took the time to explain the menu options, offered recommendations, and made sure that all my needs were met throughout the meal. Her exceptional customer service truly added a personal touch and made me feel like a valued guest.

In conclusion, the diner located near Peggy's Cove is a great breakfast spot that offers excellent value for money and exceptional service. The delicious food, cozy atmosphere, and the outstanding service from Kaylee made it a memorable dining experience. I highly recommend this diner to anyone visiting the area, and I am confident that you will leave satisfied...

Tuesday at 535, arrived. Two tables outside were full, and 1 inside. We were invited to sit where we wanted. We waited for about 8 min for one of the waitresses to bring us menus and take our drink order.

We ordered our meals, and about 25 min later they brought my husband's meal (2 piece fish & chips)...my bowl of chowder nowhere to be seen.

We watched another table of 4 (arrived after we did, and ordered after us), 1 meal brought out. The 3 other people, no meals. About 6 min. later, a 2nd meal brought out.

Then, my bowl of tepid chowder was brought to me. Barely warm. I had 2 bites and asked for her to bring me a new bowl, and explained it was barely warm.

10 minutes later, she brought me a replacement bowl. It wasn't much warmer, and was primarily milk and potato. There was maybe 1 small piece of scallop, and 2 small pieces of lobster. $18 for potato soup.

At the same time, the other table's final 2 meals were brought out.

Not once did anyone come to see if we needed anything. After I finished, she came by to pick up my empty bowl. At that point she said something to the effect of "Was everything good?". I said "No."...and she just walked off with my bowl.

We did not leave a tip.

Zero stars, is what I would leave if I could. We won't be back.

EDIT: to respond to the owner's response.

My husband never said his meal was great 😂. You have misinformed. I will disagree with how long it took for the 'warmed up bowl of chowder to arrive. Chowder should be a hot dish, 60 degrees Celsius, according to HACCP. It was barely warmer than the first bowl.

Yes, the bowl was empty, because it wasn't very large to begin with, and I'd not eaten all day, so yes, I ate it. For potato soup it was fine - however you advertise it as "seafood chowder" that would imply that it would have a reasonable amount of seafood in it for the $18 price point. As instated, it has 2 miniscule pieces of lobster and I think a portion of a scallop - it was so small I couldn't be sure.

The empty bowl doesn't change the fact that it was a poor meal and even worse service.

I will not respond...

This is a cute little spot on the road to Peggy's Cove! Great outdoor dining area with lots of breeze off the water keeping the bugs away. Comfortable seating and not too crowded, but if you wanted to strike up a conversation with your neighbor, you could.

Our service was excellent, The servers were friendly, and knowledgeable and very quick. The food was also prepared and delivered quickly. For the most part. It was all hot and delicious.

We had stopped there for a late lunch. I had the roasted chicken breast sandwich with Cajun spice, which was on the small side, but delicious! The chicken was perfect!

One of my companions had the lobster clubhouse sandwich and it was phenomenal! Can't say enough about this. I wish I had it!

My other companion had a bowl of seafood chowder and I had a cup of the chowder as a side as well. This was the disappointment of the meal. The chowder was incredibly thick because the potatoes were almost mashed. There was no discernible broth or cream base to it and it had the look and consistency of oatmeal! It was difficult to taste whether or not I had fish in each spoonful.

Considering how amazing everything else was, this was a disappointment. I will however be going back for that lobster...

The just fine diner If you’re looking for a throwback to the 1970s and want to experience what it feels like to be smothered by cheese, this might be your spot. The diner has an old-school vibe — think: time capsule, not retro chic. Lots of seating, which is good because it wasn’t busy at all. We basically had our pick of the place, which felt a bit like eating lunch in an abandoned movie set. As for the food: heavy is an understatement. Everything arrived buried under a mountain of cheese, like it was trying to hide from flavor. I kept hoping a spice or seasoning would make a surprise cameo, but alas — it was just me and dairy, duking it out for my digestive survival. When it came to the service… , our server was genuinely friendly. Although, no one came to take our plates or give us our bills. After waiting over 25 minutes we went up to the counter ourselves. When we did this and we were in the middle of trying to pay, he took a phone order in front of us and made us wait yet again to pay. Overall: not terrible, not amazing — just aggressively okay. Would I come back? Only if I was deeply nostalgic for cheese-based meals and lack of service.
