Read moreThe male worker there is a great guy but the lady isnât the best listener. A few times Iâve asked for a Donair Box with RICE and got fries?!. FIRSTLY, WHY ON EARTH WOULD ID COME WITH FRIES ?! We donât have to make everything âwesternâ to put it nicely⌠for those who dislike seasoning. The Donair Box should come with rice. You donât have an option for a âregularâ dinner. I get shawarma because itâs relatively healthy.
SECOND, you use to sell BEEF in your BEEF donairâŚ. Now when I ask for BEEF you give me GYRO ? The lady was unable to explain why they do that⌠I mean come on⌠why throw away your best dish ?! Thatâs also false advertising⌠next time I come, Iâm going to ask for a free meal or my money back.
LASTLY, Please stop drenching your food in sauce. That tells your customer that youâre hiding something. I ordered shawarma not soup. That is the SECOND free meal I request because one time it was inedible.
The first time I visited to the location, the food was spectacular. The beef had flavour not too much sauce the veggies were fresh. The only negative was paying extra for rice.. it should be the other way around. The male there is very kind. The people are very kind. The place is very clean. I am a HUGE supporter of places like this and I live so close that if you adjusted your menu to its FULL POTENTIAL you would have a guaranteed customer 5 out of 7 days.
I know I am just one man who only reviews shawarma spots for the most part but trust me.. I know my shawarma⌠and if you can correct these things Iâm sure you would do much better. Iâd also be happy to change my review and then post your location on my social media...
Read moreI stopped by Donair Istanbull for my first time this week. I've walked by a few times recently and it always smells amazing.
I've only had East Coast style Donairs which I enjoy so I figured how different would an Instanbull donair be? I'm also a big fan of different wraps like Shawarma, Roti, Gyro so I was looking forward to a new style.
Walking in for the first time was a nice surprise. Lots of seating and windows. A TV or two for entertainment and counter with the meat and toppings on display. Very comfortable to stay or takeout. The staff behind the counter were very nice and they made me feel welcome. They even gave me a little free cup of the Lentil soup that they offer. It was very good. Lentils, curry and some other flavors (garlic?) were a delicious combination.
I went with a "traditional" chicken Donair wrap which isn't like an East Coast Donair that I'm familiar with. The toppings were a mix of veggies, onions and sauces which were delicious. They were not sweet like an East Coast Donair The chicken and toppings were all fresh and seasoned well. The wrap itself was amazing. The most "melt in your mouth" wrap/bread that I've ever had. I'd compare it to a combination of a thin West Indian roti wrap but the buttery flavor of naan bread. Combined, the whole thing was so good!
They did have an "East Coast Donair" on the menu, which I may try in the future, however the traditional Istanbul Donair was not a disappointment. I will definitely be back to try some other menu items and I'd recommend this place...
