Deerfield Pub — Restaurant in Hammonds Plains

We had a very unfortunate experience this evening. Arriving a couple of minutes after 6pm we sat at the outside patio, hostess promptly greeted us, and gave us menus. Shortly after our sever came by and took our drink order. She returned with our drinks, and we placed our orders. In a short time later our appetizer arrived. We waited for approximately an hour and a half, our server did not check on us, and people that came after us was getting their food, one table that came after us, received their food, ate, paid and left. My wife went inside to find our server, asked if our food was close, she replied the kitchen was backed up. About a half hour later I went in to find our server, who was chatting with other servers at the bar, now waiting 2 hours for our food. I asked if our food was close, and she simply pointed to the kitchen and said it’s all backed up. I advised that other tables had come after us, and had been served, she replied “ not my tables” in a very unprofessional tone. Then I said, you have not checked on us the entire evening to see if we wanted another drink, or an update on the delays. She quickly turned around and said I will come out shortly and walked away. We watched as she served another table. The manager came over to our table to ask if everything was okay. When we explain our evening, she said that their system crashed and the kitchen was backed up. Now after 8 with no idea how much longer it was going to be, and the night air getting cool, we opted to leave hungry, the manager did say there would be no charge. We traditionally have a good time, and good food here, but tonight was a terrible experience, our server was unprofessional, rude, and did not acknowledge her wrong doing. I can’t image...

After a golf event my wife and I had a bite to eat while she had some wine. The place looks nice but the choice of music (some serious rock) is not really in line with the place itself. We ordered calamari as a starter. What we got was some fried fish and peppers where the only thing you could taste was the salt. The salt was so overwhelming that after a few bites we left the plate for what it was. We told the waitress to let the kitchen know we could not eat it properly. After that my wife had some tacos and I had the Rueben sandwich. The taco she ate and so did I with my sandwich but both were not outstanding. The pickled gherkin was just a few slices and the sauerkraut was sparse. When we got the bill, we were still charged for the failing calamari, even though we did hardly eat of it and hearing someone communicate with kitchen staff to cut back on the salt with our starter. Leave the salt for what it and let the guests add salt to their liking at the table, hence the reason for salt and pepper shakers at the table. I do not think we will be back for another...

We live in Hammonds Plains and we're very excited to see new pub opening in our area. Our first visit in November was a great experience. Service was great..the manager was walking around and checking in on the tables welcoming everyone. All the items we ordered were available and were very tasty. One person in our group had the Deerfield Pub Burger which barely fit in the bun and definitely looked homemade not a box burger.

Our second visit tonight with three other friends was not the same experience. My husband ordered a neat Japanese whiskey neat and it came with four large ice cubes in it.

We proceeded to place our food order.

Charcuterie board - not available Salmon - not available Deerfield Pub Burger - terrible. Liked like a box burger from the grocery store. I complained to our server and she spoke to her manager who then took half off the price of the burger. The manager did not take the time to come over and actually see what the burger looked like.

Coming from a hospitality family this was very disappointing.
