Essentially English Bakery & Cafe — Restaurant in Hantsport

We were visiting my family in New Minas and we come from a long line of bakery lovers! We drove 20 min to Hantsport to visit this bakery and we were not disappointed! We purchased cookies, carrot cake, Quiche, frozen chicken pot pie and some bread. Everything was fresh and delicious. The cookies didn’t make it the drive home before they were gone, we sampled every flavour of cookie and not a crumb was left behind. The quiche was a delicious and savoury breakfast the next morning, the crust was flaky and buttery. Staff were friendly and patient while we were making our choices and asking questions. Went yesterday for first time. Coffee was the best. Had a cheese scone and a square. I was loving the items on shelf and I am going to visit family in New Glasgow and will stop here first to pick up things to take. I used to shop at Marks and Spencer’s when I grew up in Halifax. This little shop is very plain and simple with good food choices. I had a coffee with cream and a sausage roll. The coffee was decent for the $2.50 I paid, and the sausage roll was so good, with a nice flaky crust and a really good amount of sausage in it. My daughter got a chocolate chip cookie which was also really good. They had a great variety of English products and also a fridge with cheeses and frozen meals in it.
