Café B C — Restaurant in Hastings Highlands

As my partner and I where very hungry on July 29th 2023 we where poorly greeted by staff but told to sit wherever which is cool... Bancroft is my home town and I was super excited to catch up with my niece from Alberta as I am her eldest Uncle currently residing in Belleville. The food was super over priced and the servers didn't care much to talk or get to know this table in specific, but had the nerve to call the cops on us as we left because we where apparently suspicious child traffickers... Trying to pick from a very small amount of restaurants in the area was difficult as it was and I was hoping there would be more menu options to accomadate food allergies and sensitivites... We where trying to be very cautious about gluten free food which my niece is highly allergic to... We waited around a very long time for the food and it was very lack luster... The place is looking alot like it did way back in the day when people chain smoked in the place with barely a thing updated. Server didn't ask a single question about how our day was what we where doing or what brought us to the restaurant TERRIBLE customer service. I will never recommend this dive place to anyone ever again.. Pathetic first experience with my partner and my niece and truly shows how bigoted the staff is and the customer service truly was. Thanks for being cautious about children but NOT THANKFUL for ruining our visit in a busy life where we don't normally have the time of day to spend time with family. Shame on this DUMP and their incredibly terrible judgment skills and customer service. I know this dive will remain as there isn't many options but steer clear anyone who is targeted or stereotyped by low life staff that can't give normal...

Don't usually do any negative reviews but was disappointed with my visit here. My aunt who lives in the area suggested it so I thought it must be good. However she got a roast beef sandwich and wasn't impressed and I got the Buffalo chicken wrap which didn't taste like a Buffalo chicken at all was almost sweet tasting like it had some sort of dressing on it. The prices were to high imo but you did get a decent amount of food. To top it all off I didn't even get out of the restaurant before my stomach took a turn for the worst so I just threw the rest of my food out as I was afraid to even try to finish it. I might give the place another shot next time I'm up there but there are better places to go. Staff was friendly though, I don't get some of the whiners about the staff not asking them how their day was and stuff, I didn't realize it was the staffs job to sit down and talk with you lol this is a restaurant they have a job to do and it's not too find out about you and how your day is going lol...

Came in we ordered Mozza Stix to start and than I ordered The Klubber Sandwhich and I poutined my fries (like always) , than my husband ordered Bacon Cheese Burger. I had to request due to last time of getting Mozza Stix to start they were barely cooked. This time they were great. But than when we got our burgers the fries were undercooked and I had to get up and request to the server to get mustard and Relish, he didn't get any pickle either and just given ketchup at the table. The server( French lady) should know better that burgers come with the works and if it isn't dressed in the kitchen you are to bring the condiments to the table otherwise . And when you try and explain shes walking away from the table still talking and shes very loud when shes taking your order. Gives me anxiety and makes me feel anxious. Disappointing the last 2 times and this type of food is easy to cook I could do it with my eyes closed ....
