Local diner near Algonquin park, seems to be a local favourite! I stopped by for dinner after my hike at Algonquin park. While I was eating here I noticed that there were a lot of people who came in, some came for dine in service and some came for takeout. The staff at the diner knew at least 90% of the people coming in by name. One of the regulars even brought his friend to checkout the place. So it seems like this diner is quite frequented by the locals in the area. When we walked in, we were quickly greeted by James, he was very friendly and full of energy. He was quick to take our order and check on us when we needed something, service was wonderful. We ordered the Porterville Pizza and wings with fries, added a side of gravy and finished off with a butter tart for dessert. The pizza was nice and crispy and topped with lots of fresh toppings, probably one of the best pizzas I ever had! The wings and fries with gravy was delicious as well. The warm butter tart for dessert was a great finishing touch to the meal. Chef Jamie did a great job with everything that came out of that kitchen, no wonder this place is so popular amongst the locals. The ambiance of the diner is exactly as pictured, small local diner vibes, very warm and welcoming. I can’t wait to try the other dishes on their menu next time I’m in the area!

The best poutine! We have yet to try the rest of the food but i am sure it is just as good. Friendly staff as well. We have now been here in the winter and the summer. Winter time they have firepits for snowmobilers to warm up around which is so nice on the windy days!!!!

We stopped by this quaint little restaurant while staying at a cottage we rented this summer. There are only so many campfire-rosted hotdogs a person can take. Nothing beats a little greasy spoon and this place delivered. I had a fantastic burger and shared some deep fried pickles with my wife. The kids got the barley soup, a chicken burger, and shared some nachos. Everything was perfect. I wouldn't have changed anything if I had to. If you're in the area or taking a trip to Algonquin park, do yourself a favor and pop...

Over 30$ for two Cesar salads NO chicken. Two extra small KRAFT dressings on the side. Even the expensive fancy restaurants don’t charge these kind of prices. The salads were horrible and if your going to charge premium prices. Use premium products. Rene’s would be preferable if paying 1500 for a salad considering I could buy all that for one salad and make 8. For never being open …...
