Kettles Back Home Cookin'- Clifford — Restaurant in Howick

We ate there Sat. night and everything was very nice. It was refreshing to see the new decor. I had the schnitzel with mashed potatoes, mixed veg, coleslaw and gravy. I chose the smaller sized portion and it was just the right amount. The schnitzel was very light and tender. Often schnitzel is chewy. The gravy was very good. Potatoes, veg and coleslaw were yummy too. I chose the peach pie for dessert. Fantastic and fresh as peaches are currently in season. My husband had the onion soup and club sandwich. He said the club was "fine" but he's had better. It was average but he did appreciate the really thick slices of meat. The staff was very friendly and attentive. It's a great place for home cooking. We would definitely go back next time we're passing...

Not sure who is writing the positive reviews for this location?? The Redwood was always FAST and large helpings. I have now stopped at Kettle (2nd chance) over the last month on the way to Sauble. I am totally shocked that this place is still in business. Take out window on a Sunday 3pm (waited 34mins) for food. Basic plain burger and onion rings and kids chicken finger/fries. The burger was identical as a Mcdouble at the golden arches but with a smaller bun. The onion rings were lucky to have any onion inside the thin badder. The kids chicken fingers could be called baby fingers, totally disappointed for $7.99. This place will sink fast if the food continues to be something you could order from a food truck downtown Toronto. Not worth the $23.00 I had to fork...

This was the best breakfast experience me and my wife have had in a very long time!! The eggs bennie was out of this world the hollandaise sauce was amazing and the eggs cooked to perfection. I also took home a serving of bread pudding and oh my god do i wish that i got 3 of them!!! We will definitely be going back here again and again!! Also they told us about a second location i think in Owen sound i believe and we cant wait to try there as well. I recommend this place over any in the are i promise you wont be...
