So fun! We were visiting my sister and her man for the weekend nearly 2 weeks ago and they brought us to Scotia Curry. Well, how fun is this place? It's a converted something, (either a church or a garage--I couldn't tell) and has a very rustic feel, but believe me, it just adds to the fun. There was a really fun band who waved and yelled goodbye when we left. I'm not exaggerating when I say the best part was the curry. It is THE BEST CURRY I've ever had in my life, and I've been eating it since I was a kid (I'm not saying how many decades, but they're piling up). I had Chicken Madras and my husband had the Rogan Josh. They were both delicious. Also the naan was the best I've had in years, you could tell it was cooked in a real tandoor. The owner is a sweetheart who really cares if you're enjoying yourselves and the staff are lovely. We are still talking about it. I can't wait to go back . . . and I bought a new curry book so I can try and replicate it, which I know I can't but I'm going to try anyway.
Read moreAmazing service and hospitality! Such a gem in Black Point that will be my go to now. The owner greeted us very warmly and was so welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed. Incredible food cooked with love, with amazing fresh made pickle, chutney and sauces to try with our meals. Appetizers were fresh and delicious. Went as a double date with friends after returning from a spa, and it made our day five million times better. Love the affirmations and quotes on the walls also. :) I got lamb biryani and it was so tender and amazing. Everyone loved their food and we were all deeply satisfied with our meals. The owner even welcomed us to come back in the summer when there's live music. We'll be back! :) Didn't get a photo cause we ate everything too fast,...
Read moreI recently dined at Scotia Curry Indian Cuisine in Hubbards, and while my experience was pleasant, it had its ups and downs. The ambiance was warm and inviting, and the service was friendly, but the food itself was a mixed bag.
The curry, which I was most looking forward to, unfortunately lacked the rich, bold flavors I was expecting. It felt a bit underseasoned and didn’t have the depth I associate with great Indian cuisine. However, the steamed momo absolutely stole the show—perfectly soft, flavorful, and wonderfully comforting.
Overall, a decent meal with some standout dishes, but I’d love to see the curry packed with more spice and authenticity...
